There are definitely many details that are off and the art could be better, but all in all it’s not bad. Also, Like “not bad” said, there were female Spartans, and in fact many of them could beat John 117 in different regards. For example, Linda 058 could out snipe John 117 any day of the week. (Spartans don’t have last names, so they’re referred to by first name and their number) Anyway, that was my rant I guess.

Um thought id clear up a serious confusion in most posts, the reason the ruins looked so human is because the forerunners were human… Its all completely explained in halo 3 if you read through the terminals, they didnt visit the humans on earth they dropped themselves off to build the arc that controls the rings.

First off this this anime is really good I’ve played all the games and scoured the web a bit in the past for background info for the series and this anime does with what its got well to me.
Second that person makes some sense sarcasm or not people here in the states just like there stuff easy to follow but engaging to get in but to be honest those kinds of gamers will grow out off it. sooner or later yul play and rpg and not notice like i did. mine was KOTOR but if you don’t then that’s it its just not your thing.but that does not mean your immature or anything mister truegamer its just narrowed minded.

Please guys, don’t judge this actually awesome show by the little details given in the one or two games you played! To my understanding everything adds up. Maybe one could critizise for lack of detail when it comes to graphics, its rather plain there…
And also its funny to find such a difference in hight when one looks at the Helljumpers. One is like 5′3 and the other more than 6′11. And the Spartan is even outtowering this tall fellow. What kind of military choses such extremes? But who am I to judge…

I’m gonna have to say this, sonce no one else seems to have the brains to say it. Dubhappy, I recommend you take this video down. This is a show that is only being released for 24 hours at a time once a week, and the dvd isn’t being released until early 2010. Meaning that this video can only be pirated and thus you are severely breaking the law by hosting this video. I am only posting this because I like this site and think that you should continue running. I have no problem with you hosting the anime, after the dvd gets released and someone uploads via their bought product.

Avery Johnson (the black loudmouthed sergeant from the games) was a Spartan I, the augmentations he underwent in that program are why he is unable to become infected by the flood as is the chief.
There are loads of prophets who occupy more menial roles within the covenant, a bit like senators and they control the day to day running of things like economy and trade.
The Master chief in the games is called John, his rank was not that of an officer. He was John – 117 Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy.
Halo was the series of ring worlds that the games took place on mostly.
There are as off Halo 3, still a few spartans out there (best guesses reckon about 3), although most are WIA or MIA. Soldiers Linda-058, Kelly-087, and Fred-104 are trapped inside a slipspace shield world.
Finally the forerunner cant have based those buildings on japanese architecture seeing as the forerunner were wiped out in about 97,500 BCE so a long time before any modern humans lived and had buildings at all so whilst forerunner did visit earth they couldnt have seen much. Technically they are cyborgs; they have neural implants and bio-augmentation (reinforced bone structure among many others, probably having to do with oxygen delivery and nerve reflexes).

This is exactly the thing I feared when they announced a Halo Anime. I’d assume you must not have a very good attention span. You probably need to see unnatural amounts of blood and guts in order to be entertained. Now come on guys, you are all just picking me apart because I think that this is the greatest anime. You are picking me apart because of my own personal prefrences. And anime and books are two different things, doesn’t make me a hypocrite because story oriented anime (and games like Metal Gear or Final Fantasy for that matter) have consistently sucked in the face of animes like Halo or Modern Warefare. Anyone real gamer (not those casual Wii owners or those who are in denial and bought a PS3) could say that those games are simply better. In the case of anime, I think I speak for most when I say that most are not going to want to sit and watch people talking to each other like in Death Note, I DO NOT want a story in my anime – that not the point. The point is to loose yourself in mindless combat. Things start to get crappy when I must sit around and remember different events and people in order to understand whats going on, it just gets too complicated. Thats why I suggested an anime like Modern Warefare, it really has no realy story to it at all (I hate it how game reviewers like BS Gaming rate games on their story, thats not ture gaming – its casual) its just combat. Because more poeple wouldn’t need to sit through pointless converstations (I’m looking at YOU Hideo Kojima)and spend more time watching awesome combat. Sorry if my personal preferences upset some of you or brought up stereotypes about us new anime watchers that are coming here because of animes like Halo, but I guess it’s just a sign of the times as more games are made into animes (as I said before, Modern Warefare. And a Left 4 Dead anime would be fricken sweet), more gamers such as myself are going to come to sites like this to watch them.

This was actually a lot better than I was expecting. I liked it’s portrayal of the UNSC – it seemed less US-Army like. The rest of it just looked great and the storyline was pretty good also.
I can understand how a person who isn’t a big halo fan (or who doesn’t know about the halo universe) might find this to be very confusing or just bad in general. – Especially the girl spartan part.
Why is it so shocking that there are female spartans?! Samus Aran from Nintendo’s Metroid series is one hot babe, and her abilities are on par with that of a spartan’s (in my opinion, her abilities put spartans to shame). No one ever complains about that though. I wonder if it’s because of her Zero Suit in Brawl… ;)
its because in metroid the main warior was a female and thus seting the game up in that respect. and it became only natual, or defult. same with halo. in halo the master chief had a very specific demeanor, and was male. its that character development that sets the defults for these storys, and, what attracts ppl to the worlds of these games/storys, making them so popular. and btw, u cant compare samus to masterchief like that… the platforms r just way to out of wack to compare them justly. i think if MC was in the metroid universe he would be far stronger or whatever than he is in the halo universe. and he would be an even match for samus, if not better. same visa-versa. samus would be far more “down to earth” in the halo universe

This was awesome! Okay me, i am sorry your f***ing stupid. Have you ever heard of Halo Wars it was way before Halo 1,2,3, and ODST. Back then there were many 1st gene Spartans and Prophets. When you hit Halo 1. Master Chief is a 2nd gene Spartan. He is the only one left and there are only 3 Prophets remaining.(i think 4 are remaining but one gets killed off right away in Halo 2) From now on get your story straight before you sound like an idiot. That goes for any other person that wants to make a stupid comment about this!

First, Halo is the name of the rings yes but they were not fighting the rings. It wasn’t until they found out that the halo rings were weapons able to wipe out all of man kind as well as the flood among other things did they wish to blow up said rings. 2. Master Chief is a 2nd gen spartan yes however his face was never shown and he was called Master chief not john or any of the other names. John was his commanding officer. Or so the game said until I believe the 2nd one. Has been far to long since I played all three. lastly Spartans are cyborgs in other words half human half mech. Master chief’s cyborg parts were built better then the 1st gens parts. If you think about it Spartans from halo are like most of the people from Ghost in the shell. Some hold emotions others do not, just as some have cyborg type parts while others don’t. Looking at it like this it is far easier to explain. The chip she hands to the young man isn’t an AI it is a data chip. Kind of like a floppy dick only smaller and much harder lol.
Master Chief was his title, not his name, it is a military rank, and he was always called by his rank. John was his actual name from before he was chosen to be a Spartan. Also, Spartans are not cyborgs in the traditional sense of the term. A better way of putting it would be enhanced human. They do not have any robotic parts bult into them, so they are not really “cyborgs.” They have had their bodies enhanced through surgery and augmentation, but they are not part robot. All this information is available in the novels that have been written.

How come they made the elite’s look like samurai’s. That’s my first complaint. Second complaint how come there are human looking buildings from japan in forerunner architecture. Complaint three why did they make the anime and why couldn’t Peter Jackson make the CGI movie? The girl spartan is no big deal (i.e. kelly in Fall of Reach, kelly fastest spartan) but dead with one blow and the hammer didn’t smash her…WTF, at least make the weapons the same.
hmmm, Im pretty sure that the date of this mission wasen’t really confirmed. Besides the fact that it obviously took place before the Fall of Reach.
There’s a high chance that this mission took place before the shield for the armor was implemented. As the spartans first had a normal enhancing suit, then made the shield later with the help of the Elite shields.

This show was horrible, honestly terrible, firstly I don’t think the Elites live in japanesse style castles… That is just stupid. Secondly Spartans never die if you know what I mean you would be aware that they would never be talking about it. Third that clearly wasn’t a prophet, the master chief kills all 3 phrophets and original three were replaced right at the start of the war with out taking any fire via truth. And I guess my very last issue with the show was how just utterly drall it was, not every spartan has an AI infact AI’s are very rare only reason the MC. Had one was because he took it from a WHOLE ATTACK CRUISER they don’t hand the things out on the cheep after all..
Alright, time to set a few things straight here. First off, if you pay attention to the briefing scene, it is mentioned that there are ruins on the planet that they need to check out. The buildings shown are clearly the ruins mentioned, and are implied to be made by the Forerunners. As for the design of the buildings, it is known that the Forerunners visited Earth while humans were present, and could very well have based the design of these buildings off those found in ancient Japan. It is also possible that this event took place before the implementation of the “Spartans Never Die” Protocol. Also, there are more than just three Prophets. There are hundreds of Prophets that are part of the Covenant political-religious system. The three killed by the Master Chief were the Hierarchs, the three Prophets that lead the Covenant. Finally, the device the Spartan handed to the ODST’s was not an AI, but merely a chip containing all the information they had gathered in their exploration. It does look similar to Cortana’s AI chip, but never do they say that what she gives them is an AI.
Next time make sure you have your facts straight and pay attention before you start bitching and moaning about something.

She is a 1st gen spartan she till has emotions, Master Chief (the main charather in the games) is a 2nd gen spartan and they took away his emotion when they made him.
They are all SPARTAN IIs and were trained, bio-augmented, and deployed at the same time. In fact, Kelly was in the same troop that John lead during their training on Reach.

“Halo” isnt anyone, thats just the name of those rings they fight on ussually. Who you are reffering to is the Spartan known as Master Chief in the game series. He is a guy though, there are more Spartans than just one. If im not mistaken there used to be tons of em before the Halo1,2,3 story line (somewhere during the Halo Wars time). This anime is prolly during that time.
