I’m convinced Number 39 was called “Hope” to tie in the legend that Yuma may have opened Pandora’s Box. Pandora opened a box that scattered all manner of evils across the world (the Numbers), and somehow only Hope was left behind.
If the cards are made before the anime, then maybe someone in Konami did not catch on to this when the cards were made for English-speaking audiences, Utopia just sounded better, sigh.
This could have been dubbed a lot worse, let us see how they deal with Kathy and Kaito…
i know most of people hates these new series but as an old fashon yu gi oh fan ill give it a shot . Honostly instead of watching subb versions i still preffer the dubbed ones so even thought 4 kids may have screwed abit the show ill still watch it. Everybody has opinions and this was mine.
What the hell are these ”Go go go” cards? This isnt Inspector Gadget. Go go go Magician and Golem, now I’ve seen it all. What’s next? Go go go Bathroom break? :D hahaha

how is it cheating? because he pulled that card out and used it even thought it wasn’t in his deck? because those black cards, the xz’s. they don’t go in your deck. they go in your side deck
It’s amazing how many people don’t know that point you mentioned, they just don’t show it much because its boring and would slow the duel down. Simply put Synchro/Fusion/ etc powerful monsters are usually stored in ones side deck :P at least on the DS games lol
Meh, I’m Starting to get Tried of 4kids, Can someone tell me where I can get to Watch the Subbed Yugioh Zexal? “Feling The FLow” Is a major turn off to me…

I don’t mind the horribly cut episodes. And it’s way more like the original yugioh, not depressing like 5D’s or just rubbish like GX. Though they probably should’ve made him older than 13.

ive been a fan of the yu-gi-oh series for many years ive delt with the yu-gi-oh gx and yu-gi-oh 5ds but this iz no good the original yu-gi-oh series waz the best and greatest but i belive that yu-gi-oh zexal iz just no good!i loved the yu-gi-oh movie cause the 3 main characters from the first 3 series were in there but if this kid from this series waz in there i wouldnt hav watched it.wat im tryin 2 say iz that the creater or the person who came up with the idea of makin the next yu-gi-oh series has no taste in yu-gi-oh!!!!i would like 2 tell every1 who reads this to watch the first 3 series or parts of the series and compare them to this serie and tell me which waz better.this iz a challenge i want every1 to try!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me or does Astral talks like C-3PO?
the only thing I hate is that the protagonist is a kid. All the other anime series had the most of the mains as older teenagers. But oh well…
I wouldn’t call all the Yugioh main characters older teenagers, I think Yugi and Judai/Jaden were between 14-16.
Certainly Yusei started 5ds aged 18 and at the end was around 21 years of age, it was the only show if any that were clear with the ages of the characters.
Yuma is 13 in Zexal sure, but they may be planning some timeskips in the arcs, like with 5ds. Yusei aged like 3 years from episode 1 to end. So maybe they’l do that with Zexal and end it with Yuma being 16-17 years of age.
Anyway his age doesnt reflect the quality of the show.
This is the last of the dub I’ll be watching.
Fails so much, edits to skirts we never see under, Hope becomes Utopia, kattobingu becomes “feeling the flow”, makes me feel that Yuma is actually a girl constantly saying that.
Feels like disney and nickelodeon joined 4kids in the destruction of anime.
Actually Changing Hope’s name to Utopia was not 4kids doing. You have Konami to blame for that since that have the rights to the Trading Card Games.
However the other edits, are vintage 4kids. though I’ll take go with the flow over pop fly anyday. Similar to how people prefer believe it over databayo.

just when i thought that yuuma hadn’t got much decent cards Utopia comes how awesome! It sort’ve like the first series of yugioh where the pharaoh lost his memories and all.

They did cut a bit near the end(second episode and they’re already cutting stuff, geez), but still a decent episode. I do prefer Aspiring Emperor Hope to Utopia though the attack and ability name changes aren’t bad. I’m gonna have a habit of calling Astral a walking flashlight now, XD
It looks like ‘Feelin the flow!’ is pretty much the replacement for Yuma’s kattobingu.
Yea i was disappointed to about changing the name of Aspiring Emperor Hope to Utopia but tha wasn’t 4Kids doing.(so i heard) besides i almost like “Feelin the flow” than any of what fans translation of “kattobingu” called “Sky popping” or “Fly high”.
Anyway the voices aren’t too bad (except Yuma though he’s 13) so i’m gonna enjoy what 4Kids is gonna do until they permanently lose the yugioh license…oh boy!

Anyway Sarah did you notice 4kids poor editting job of the skirt, er whats her name Tori Meadows? Her skirt is uneditted in some parts of Episode 1 and in the opening too, I had to download the torrent just to make sure and bamn.
Looks like 4kids are getting a little slack in their skirt editting anyways lol

they cut things because they need it to match the dubbing and they only have a limited amount of time an episode can be lots of dubs cut stuff out.

Sorry but thats the biggest load of crap I’ve read on here in weeks. You don’t cut material to dub something, no. I’m guessing you havent been watching anime very long if you think that, as pretty much every non TV episode on here is sourced from DVD rips that are encoded to smaller size and have had the Japanese audio removed for dub websites(See the websites name) no material is ever cut in non 4kids shows.
