I’m on my 4th time watching Vampire Knight(Both seasons)
I just LOVE it too much
I already watched the 1st and 2nd seasons of this anime before. And people shouldn’t always complain about the voices, the voices doesn’t matter anyway. At least there are english dubs now, so we don’t need to read english subs at the bottom whenever we are watching the anime. It is much easier now to understand the story because there is english voices now. VAMPIRE KNIGHT’s the best! I’ve been a fan of VK for long for about 3 years only, but I’ll always be :)
this is funny because it feels like most of the people that made cast in Durarara should’ve made cast in VK.

okay i have just finished reading all the vampire knight manga YYYYAAAAAYYYYY for me and who ever read it to. my dad has the htc cell phone and figured out how to plug it into our computer so now we have internet. so i went online to see if there were any vampire knight episodes and found it on dubhappy.com i didnt even now this exsisted i came on by accident so thank you dubhappy creators YOU ROCK.

lol the reason why Zero’s voice would remind you of Edward and Tamaki would be because Vic Mignogna does the voice for all of them. And I do agree that Yuki’s voice doesn’t sound right with her character.

Depends on how well the voice actors do their characters. I personally LOVE Naruto english dub…. I can’t get used to it in subbed, except for the Akatsuki’s members’ voices.
Anyways… for english dub on Vampire Knight… Bad choice for Yuuki; Japanese MUCH better. Aidou’s voice is so cute :3

I have to agree with most of the commenters. Yuuki’s voice is so weird and I think they could have picked a better voice actor,but I dont really have a problem with anyone else’s voice. They suit them just fine. But I guess I will have to grow on Yuuki’s voice.

OMG! Right?! I totally pictured Johnny Yong Bosch doing Zero’s voice! He would have been absolutely perfect being all broody and sexy!!! Wow, incredible english dubbing…except for Kaname’s. His voice didn’t suit him one bit; I personally think that Kirby Morrow would’ve been a better voice for him. But other than that, it’s awesome! I can’t wait to watch the rest of the series in english! <3 Kaname!
well i think its fantastic. Vic as usual does and excellent job as zero. but im a little dissapointed with kaname and yuuki. i think they should have picked a person who had a charming yet mysterious voice for kaname. and they made yuuki sound too kidish? maybe even too high pitched of a voice. but besides that.. so far everything is really good ^ ^ cant wait to see the rest.
Wow, not bad… but I would have chosen J. Michael Tatum for the voice of Kaname. His voice-over for Jiro from ‘Black Blood Brothers’ was sexy, sometimes haunting and elegantly charming all at once! ^////^ As for Zero, I’m surprised Vic Mignogna fit such a complex, depressing character! In fact, I’m overwhelmed with his performance. Can’t wait to see him bite Yuuki! *evil grin* He makes one sexy Level D. That’s for sure! :D
As for Yuuki… I really wish she had been voiced by Laura Bailey instead of voicing Maria… -_- What a disappointment she turned out to be! Sorry Mela, this role was so NOT meant for you! Why couldn’t they switch voices at the last minute?! xD
Oh well, overall I like the series so far and hope to see better performances from some of the letdowns… especially Kaien Cross! :P For God sakes, he would have been better off voiced as the actor for SzayelAporro Granz! LOL! Anyone with a slightly higher pitch to their voice would have sufficed… Sh*t, I’m ranting again! Well, that’s enough input outta me! ^^; Keep up the uploads! Love the fact its in dubbed now i dn’t have read much.. kinda missing Japanese Version because some of the voice overs could have been casted a little better like for instance Kaname… I love Vic Mignogna glad he came and did another anime happy he plays Zero many might disagree but he profected it…
I was really looking forward to this. I had been wanting an english dub and ended up watching it subbed because I was impatient.
But this… is so bad. Seriously. I love Vic’s voice so I don’t really mind him as Zero. But the rest of the cast, mainly Kaname and Yuuki, FAILED. :(
When it first started, I really thought it was a fan dub because Yuuki’s voice was so average and… not Yuuki like? Can’t really describe it.

Sasuke as Aidou? That’s just wrong on so many levels. Aidou is not an angsty character like Sasuke is,they made hanabusa a bubbly happy character. I just can’t imagine Sasuke’s voice actor playing Aidou

I’m actually quite pleased with how all the voices turned out, although, I think they could have chosen someone better for Yuki. But, other than that, they got the rest spot on!

well i’m officially in love with ALLL of Vig Mignogna’s work. First Satoshi in DN Angel, then Kosuke in Spiral, and now Zero in Vampire Knight… Although his voice is amazing, i found Kaname’s could use a lot more work… (idk the voice actors’ names) But the persone who did voice acting for either Kakashi (from Naruto and Naruto:Shippuuden) or the voice actor for Shigure (from Fruits Basquet) would have been better fits. They suit(sp?) his personnality much much better. Alo, yuki’s voice is ok, but not as good as it could be. Either the voice actress needs a tiny bit more practice or they hire(sp?) the voice actress for Tohru (from fruits basquet) becasue i think that could fit really well if they just put a little more of a tomboy-ish air to it. anyways, i’m both suprised and happy this dub came out. And i’m sure all the voice acting choices will grow on us (on me anyways). SO BRING ON THE REST!! :3

Anyways, the dub was alright, they got the Night Class voices spot-on. The only vamp I had a problem with was Kaname. But his voice was actually good compared to Yuuki’s, and like I said before, Zero’s. I always imagined Yuuki with a voice that sounded more like Katara from “Avatar: the Last Airbender”, and as for Kaname, I think the guy who played Light Yagami from “Death Note” (Brad Swaille) would’ve suited him better.
Hopefully the dub sounds better as it goes along, or I get used to it or whatever, but so far it’s not as good as it could’ve been.
To tell you the truth,Mae Whitman would have made a better Yuuki,but I believe that Kaname as Light would make him sound pedo.Mybe Matsuda or L as Kaname? >.< Don't shoot me
LOL… I’m sorry to diss 1 of my favorite animes ever since I was grade 7, but the beginning is funny as fuck haha. Are you lost little girl(said in a pedo voice)? Then Yuki says “They’re “gaze”(At this point I thought she would stop there, as in, they’re gays), will enslave you” or something like that.
I love the voice actors themselves, but i prefer the subbed version much better. I just think the Japanese had fantastic voices for the characters that were dead on and the voices they chose for the dub just don’t seem to fit the characters as well and kind of dim in comparison. I think the director could have made much better choices for the dubbed version. I still love the show, but i think they could have planned it better.

I’m not big on this either. I loved the sub. Zero’s voice should be deepish, angry and annoyed. For example Inuyasha off of..well Inuyasha LOL. Yuki’s voice is a total robot, hers should have been more like innocent, than squeeky. Maybe even dumb founded like TOHRU off of Fruits Basket. Kaname’s voice really makes me mad in this, His should be deep velvety or mysterious. Like KIBA off of wolfs rain <3 I still love this show though :/
Ugh i was worried when i heard about the casting and now my worries have been confirmed. Zero is like my all time fav anime character and i wanted him perfect and i think the japanese did a great job with it but not this dub. I love Vic. he is an amazing VA but him as zero def not a match. All i hear is happy cheerful tamaki when its supposed to be emo vampire. And Yukis voice is amazingly obnoxious it doesn’t fit her. And i hate Kaname but it even bugs me the way they pronounce his name. I’ll prob watch the dub just to give it a chance. I mean they are all good VA’s but they just don’t fit

Okay, at this point, I could not be more disappointed. First of all, the animation to this series compared to the manga is ridiculous. They made everyone look weird and stiff and. . . weird. NONE of the voices match the characters: Yuki sounds like a five year old girl. Vic, I love him, he’s my favorite voice actor, but his voice was simply not meant to be Zero’s. And would you just listen to the way they pronounce Kaname’s name!! And KOO-ran??!!! Seriously?? I’m sticking with the manga thanks.

I’m not going to go ahead and judge this from the first episode because I’m sure this will get better with time… but from what I heard here I’m not to impressed. The voice actors are fine but they really don’t fit the characters well. That and the Japanese voices were so dead on that anything slightly off bugs me big time.
But… what can I say? Not all dubs are great next to the original. Only a few ever outshine what the Japanese have already done.
I think the guy who voiced Lelouch from Code Geass could’ve possibly played Zero better.
I think Kaname’s voice isn’t as… I dunno how to describe it but I imagine a lot different.
And I think Yuuki’s voice is perfect. Seeing as how her character is annoying in the first place.

I agree with almost all above! The series is great, but the choice of actors sucked. This isn’t the actor’s bad, I LOVE Vic and Steph. But is a major bad of the director. And Yuki’s voice….oi, there was just no saving her, and it doesn’t even sound the the director even tried to motivate her.
To all those upset about this, This isn’t being childish, this is a critique, people do it to movies all the time, and it only goes to reason that when people are as passionate about something as we are about our anime, that we would look at it not only with the eyes of a fan but with the informed eyes of a critic. No one knows the series better, the characters better then we do. And as has been said multiple times, we love the actors and the other things that they have done, but we are so disappointed in the manner that this show has been put together.

The voices are okay. I’m sure they get better as it goes but they butchered the names. The one that made me kinda peeved was Hanabusa’s name. It sound retarded in the English version compared to the Japanese version. I’m kinda disappointed with Kanames voice because it was absolutely perfect in the Japanese version.

I do not see the problem with the dub. Also I have no problem with Vic’s take as Zero,though i will have to get a custom to it. It’s was similar with JYB’s take as Renton from eureka 7 where people did not like the voice during it’s run on AS,but got custom to it and people eventually liked it. Same with Tamaki. So you’ll have to wait a while during the series to get custom to vic as zero.
Sure i’d prefer JYB as Zero , but beggers cant be choosers. and I was not susprised that Steph. in my view the right fit for that character.
it’s a good dub and its casting type is similar to ouran host high school. give it time. ypu’ll evenually like it like I do.

honestly… I only like Zero, Ruka, Akatsuki and Aidou in this… I think their american voice actors nailed the acting part, and to me that’s really all that matters.

See I feel vice versa.. I think Yuki’s voice kinda sucks.. doesn’t really match her. While Kaname and Zero are okay. I also noticed watching some of the eps that stuff was cut out. Which is reasonable enough. Even if I don’t approve of some of the voices, I still find this an awesome anime.

to all the people who are complaining bout the voices just watch the japanese version with subs or read the manga nobody is making you watch this!!!
they probably put alot of effort into making this for people who do like dubs

i was really excited that the dub was coming out and i must say im a little disappointed. the voices didn’t suit at all (the only decent voice was aidou-he was funny!) when yuuki is meant to say something funny, she says it in a serious way e.g. when she had to shout ‘WHO’S THERE?!’ it was like a mouse speaking!

I’ve watched most of Vampire Knight so far in subbed (Japanese with Eng. subtitles) and I’m not one of those people that proclaim, “OMGOODNESS DUBS LIKE SUCK!!!! The Japanese are SO MUCH BETTER! How can you guys WATCH this STUFF?!? THEY ALWAYS RUIN ANIME, GOSH!!” and crap like that. I find people who do that extremely annoying,narrow-minded,and idiotic. -_-’ I’ve actually watched more anime in dub because obviously English is my first language. Anyways, my main point is that I don’t like Yuki’s and Zero’s voice. (Everyone elses voices are alright so far) Zero, for example, is a more deep character and a deep voice suits him. I mean come on Vic. You’re awesome but… I don’t know. Maybe if I watch more I’ll get used to their dubbed voices but for now I’m sticking to the subbed version.

I think they did a terrible job casting this. Yuuki is a robot, Kaname is creepy and Vic is not the right voice for zero.
okay this is gonna sound crazy but how about fan just hold a damn vote of which voice actors THEY want for the character, that way we at least get SOMEWHERE in being SATISFIED with the dubs. I know, crazy idea

I guess it’s a matter of opinion whether you like it or not. I personally think they could of done better (like let Funimation dub the series) but you know, I can tolerate it. Yuki’s voice is a little annoying, but then again she’s an annoying character.
I thought some of the male voices were a little too deep (they’re in high school, geez) but I liked the voice actor for the headmaster. Wasn’t he Shigure in Fruits Basket?

I think all the voices are pretty decent, especially the nite class voices. I also love the young Kaname’s voice, which is at 0:43, its a really nice voice:) love it.
There’s a fandub on youtube by some chick. i forget her name it’s like cata-something…forget but it catascrophic? maybe? i dunno as i was saying, that fandub is actually better then this….oh well…got to deal. It’s dubbed, no matter. Don’t need to spaz over it lol

Personally, I think they did a horrible job on this. Yuki sounds like a robot.. You can’t even really hear Kaname’s voice unless you turn it up, and then Yuki says something, and it’s like “OW, my effin’ ears..” And Zero? I hear Zero and I think of an emo Tamaki. =__=
They could have done soooo much better on this, or better yet, not have dubbed it at all. /: if you really want to watch Vampire Knight, I say stick with the subs. I know that somehow, they’re going to screw this anime over dubbed, and leave crap out. They reworded a few important things, which really ticks me off. I’m a huge Vampire Knight fan, and this was a total let down. ;w;
At first I was like “HELL NO!! THEY ALL SOUND WRONG!” But it’s like FMA Brotherhood with Al’s voice, you need to watch more than one episode to really get adapted to it, then it’s no big deal and you end up liking it.

i don’t see what’s so bad abou it. i loved it actually. i really like the japanese voice cast as well, but i freaking hate japanese female voices. most of them are just too high pitched. >.>;

This dub is such poor quality, many of the fan dubs are better than this. I am quite disappointed. If you are truly serious about watching this anime the way it was intended to be, please watch the subbed version.
I think they worked really hard on this and I like it. And I think Vics Voice for Zero is great. He sounds ok. So don’t be mean ppl. Ugh It just ruins the dub for me when ppl are being so rude about this.

I was incredibly excited for this dub. I didn’t recognize most of the actors besides Ichijo’s actor, Spike Spencer who plays Hanataro from Bleach and Vic Mignogna of course. I was trusting Vic to try and play someone as depressing as Zero as best as he could. This is what I said after watching this in silence:
“WHAT THE SHIT VIC?!?! YOU SCREWED US OVER!!!!!YOU SHALL DIE!!”
hmm. slightly infuriating. And Vic is a great actor, but he should have said no for this, or at least played a different character like Aido, who has a higher pitch.

The dub sucks! My two favorite characters sound way out of well…character! I love the Vampire Knight series, but VIZ I HATE your dub of this. You ruined it! I refuse top buy the DVDs.

all the boys voices was ok but all the girls sounded WIERD at the start but you get used to them eventuly. I have alredy seen V.K. subbed and I usaly prefer dubbed over subbs but this time i think the subbs was A LITTLE beter than the dubbs :P
i prefer subs over dubs, the only anime that i have seen in both that i liked was ouran high school host club, they were the only voices that matched the characters perfectly
I think the Dub is ok. I can handle it, but I like the Sub more. I think Viz could have done a little bit more better with the voices. Maybe if I hadn’t watched the Sub, then I might actually liked the Dub. Vampire Knight is the first & so far the only Anime I watched Subbed all the way. I’m more of a Dub fan, but I do watch Anime that have been Dubbed, but not finished & so I watched the Subs to those episodes. Who knows, maybe when I watch more Dub episodes of this Anime, I might love it^^ I will buy the DVDs when they are out :D

I love VK. I really do. I have the mangas…. (loser) And Vic is an AMAZING voice actor. My fav. But he is not Zero. Not at all. In fact, he probably would have made a better Kaname. And Ethan Murray would have made a better Zero. But, hey, I’m just a fan. I like the dub (don’t have to read the subtitles) =D

Take it easy, man. I agree that people who hate the dub shouldn’t complain, but isn’t voicing your opinion what commenting is for? And, most people who don’t like the dub specifically would have already had to watch the subs. Also, this is the first episode, so It’s not like the complainers unwillingly watched all the episodes posted (though, I suppose they could have…) In addition, people who hate this dub stayed on this page long enough to comment because they wanted to see what other people had to say after checking this episode out. Therefore, why would people who have watched the sun want to watch it again because you told them to? Besides, just because VC dubbed haters well, hate VC dubbed (well said)…doesn’t meant hey don’t want to give the rest of the dubbed episodes a chance. Maybe they will like it.

I HATE Vic Mignogna for Zero’s role. I much would have prefered Johnny Yong Bosch, Brad Swaile, or even Yuri Lowenthal! I mean, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Vic and his other anime roles, but he just… he just killed Zero’s voice… I’m so sorry to say, but that’s just my opinion… And as for Yuki’s voice, it’s alright, but she really needs to pronounce Kaname’s voice better XD Kaname is also alright, but they’re just not perfect lmao but well other than that I guess it’s good that they finally came out with the dub so that other people can enjoy this AMAZING series :D
