Actually he was going to meet Roku’s Spirit. The Air Nomads were very spiritual and they were going to teach him how to connect with his past life. They can’t be alive at the same time because they are the same person.
I can’t remember who mentioned this but as far as two avatars being alive at the same time; not possible. The Monks were going to help Aang get to the spirit realm to speak with Roku. They are essentially the same person so there is no way they would be able to meet with out one dying. In the flash back where Roku shows Aang the history of how the war started he does the entire time line to the point of his demise. Directly after that it shows Aang being born.
I like this series sorta. Im gonna need some time to get over my sadness of Avatar:The Last Airbender ending. But I do like this show so far. And lol Grandma Katara looks JUST like HER Gran-Gran. But yea good show!
i dont like the show that mush they shouldnt have changed alot of stuff and made it into the future and they shouldnt have said that avatar ang died they should have left him alive and like he would like teach korra how to bend all 4 elements (idk how to spell there names)
I actually watched a few episodes after this and Amon is the bad guy just like the fire lord was. The thing that confuses me the most is WHAT ARE THE FAMILY TREES??? I must find out!!
People please stop being so attached to the last airbender series. people die its natural and we need to get used to it. the makers made the series more mature (notice that in the last airbender the characters where 13-16) and in LOK (17-19). we viewers grow up, and so must we accept death and change, we are continuously dealing with it.
haha as soon as i saw Lin in the warrior looking suit and the way she talks/acts im like – theres no doubt in my mind that that’s Toph’s little girl- like mother like daughter as they used to say(but overall great characters!!)…… (^x^)/ wonder who the father was?? o.O
@Youdontneed2know **Aang, Katara, spirit. I usually dont correct spelling mistakes but its too much when you spell some of the most inportant names of the original series wrong. anyway the creators said there will be flashbacks in some format.
@Zebra May be a bit late, but it is possible for two avatars to be alive at the same time… I remember in some episode in the original series (I think book earth) in a flashback Aang mentions he was supposed to meet Roku to learn the finer arts of being an avatar, the spiritual side. Only he ran away. So, yeah, it’s possible that both Aang and Korra are alive. Although, the creators probably wanted to create a completely new setting and so decided on just one Avatar.
I love the Legend of Korra! Actually, I already like it better than Avatar: The Last Airbender. It seems a little more complex (in a good way), a little bit more darker (again, in a good way), and a bit less weird. That being said, I’m going to comment on some things I read in the comments section. 1. This series isn’t about Aang. It’s about Korra. 2. There is a 1/2 chance of a baby being a boy or a girl. Korra ended out being a girl. So what? In real life, you’re not just going to have only guy avatars being born. 3. Just because this series is not exactly the same as the last one doesn’t mean it’s worse. It means it’s different. And that’s good. Who wants to watch the same old thing again? 4. It’s not realistic to think that all of the gang is going to be alive. People die all the time. (Although I do think that the people of the Water Tribe, especially ones with a healing ability, are able to live longer lives.) 5. Just enjoy the damn series and stop whining like little girls.
U do realize there are still CHILDREN who watch Avatar right? they cant just make it all dark because teenagers watch this and we can handle it. they still need to keep in mind that it a cartoon people of ALL ages watch
i like the new series. its new start. i really like how there is a connection to Avatar The Last Airbender. i really hope there will be some flashbacks reffering to the last airbender.
The show is pretty good so far. The only thing that gets to me is how they changed the whole thing into a more 20th century vibe. I liked the old vibe better as it stuck to me more.
Me ! I was holy crap they got sooo OLDDDDD !! And then it hit me. KATARA AND ANG HAD A KID TOGETHER OMG !!! I wonder who Touf (can’t spell her name) had a child with. Better not had been Zukko. That would be awkward. But then again him and Mai were together.
I totally agree I just watched it one TV and I was happy and disapointed I was sad to see katra old:( I think there will not be flashbacks but Korra will go in the sprite world and talk to anng, and maybe when she talks to Katra she might tell the story and maybe there will be a flashback I am sad I have to wait another week you rock avatar fans!
I don’t know about this series, seems too modern. They should of done episodes for before and see how things went with like Katara and Aang, and everyone else to understand how this truly became a series I would watch. Right now is that all i see is an avatar born with powers….really….really? I liked Aang’s part better.
First episode falls short of hopes but further character development is on the way. If “nick” tv wouldn’t had rushed the last series off the air so fast we would be enjoying ang still. I hope that “nick” doesn’t pull the plug to early here also.
(it seems to happen with all great tv series, air for a season then yanked once it [[BEGINS]] to climb to a peak) { and knowing “nick” they will sign two seasons and korra will be sent to the theaters where a horrible writer and even worse director waste millions on a poorly executed movie }
one word. . . AWESOME!!! at first when i heard of a new show from the producers of avatar without aang i was a little pissed but this show so far shows promise. i really enjoyed it and cant wait for the next episode. the only thing in this show i dont like is the amount of technology. its only suppose to be 70yrs in the future yet, other than the fire nation who had several machines (the air ballon ships etc), the technology is TOO advanced. but i give it a 9.5 out of 10!
aang is the oldest avatar cause he was 12 before he was in the ice berg so when he got out of the ice he was 112 + the rest of his life ( lucky bastard)
in the avatar state they can transform themselves into previous avatars for short periods like what happened when aang turned into roku and kick ass! this is bound to happen to korra so an adult aang will be in the series you just need to be patient!
It’s pretty obvious that Tenzin’s 2nd youngest daughter is alot like Sokka/Ty Lee :] I’m loving this series, at first i was worried that i wouldn’t like it cause it so different from the original one but i was surprised to learn that this is an amazing new story and i cant wait for the new episodes to come!:D
omg Katara. Shiting bricks. Can’t believe sokka is gone……what about Zuko and toph where are they???? Ahhhh I miss the original I can’t wait to see all the back stories on this show eeeeeek!
I know! You’re totally right. This show is starting off absolutely perfect, and way passed my expectations. All it needs now is some character that reflects the attitude and personality os Sokka. He was a very important character in my opinion that gave the show a major comedic affect. Without him, or a character like him in this new show, then the show is just missing that added touch of comedy, and well rounded completeness.
omg, i miss aang sooo much. i haven’t watched the first episode of the legend of korra, but i am real excited. ever since i stopped watching the first seasons on netflicks i couldn’t stop. went online, looked for reveiws, and found this! best of luck with these new series guys!
Wow, just wow, these first two episodes have been very good, really well done im glad katara is still alive that was a good choice, I think 26 episodes is a good amount although i wouldn’t be complaining if they came out with more(i think they should actually)overall im very happy they made a new series im happy with everything so far to tell you the truth, avatar the last airbender (AKA legend of aang) was so good it well be hard to tops but they got a good start, i wish i could meet the creators in person Michael DeMortino and Bryan Konietzko.
To those who think she can just ‘talk’ to Aang…pay attention to the beginning after she finishes training. The man even told her “she’s not paying attention to the spiritual side” that means she’s more into the moves then the other aspect of it…you can expect not to see Avatar State or visits from Aang/Roku/Kioshi for a while (atleast thats what the beginning would lead you to believe).
Even notice in the beginning sequence every Avatar is there and they all do SICK moves…but when it gets to hers…she’s only doing basic moves (by comparison) These creators KNOW how to make a GREAT show….
To those who said we will see flashbacks of the Aang Gang, I have to disagree. Most of the info of what happened to them after the fall of Ozai will be in The Promise.
All in all, this seems like an awesome series to add to The Last Airbender series. I like how there are still elements and characters from the first storyline, but it has something new and fresh to it. I wonder if anyone else besides Kitara will be alive from the original show? I would like to see who is going to be on the show from Zuko’s family. It is sad though that Kitara is the only one left. I think it is very possible that Aang will be present in spirit form as a guide to Korra, just like Roku was a guide for Aang. Can’t wait to see more!!!
Ok..Now I defiently want to see The second eposiode I wonder when she will meet sokka’s son. LOL He seemed so halarious in the preview for this show! Its even better then The orginal avatar. But then again i cant really say that. I also hope Zuko is still alive. I wonder if hes the guy behind the mask I mean duh he used to eb the blue spirit so everyone suggets that thats either him or his son or someone else. I also like the affects that they have in the legend of korra and korra reminds me a lot of Katara and how she used to be.
man they need a really funny character like toph or saka, this gurl needs friends, and is it just me or is this sort of super heroish like super man or batman type plot
I loved it, and omg Katara! i almost died. This series looks promising im surely going to stay tuned in. If so many of you dont like it calm down it was the first episode no biggie.
And to the Zuko’s mom thing/joke….. i was cursing out that little girl the whole timeeeeeeee ! lol
people are right, this will never be the original. It’ll be the Legend of Korra. seriously, if the creatures wanted it to be the original again, then they wouldn’t have even bothered. Also, i love her face at 11:59. PYRO FISH BURNING!
If Korra ever masters the spiritual side of being the avatar it is very possible for Aang to be on the show just like the avatar before Aang was on Avatar the last air bender
Well, this is good…..but it just ain’t gonna beat the original, sorry. From the first episode of the original, you knew it was going to be a deep story; this one will be childish, but i still see good potential. However, I believe that the creators should’ve created a small series (like 10-15 episodes) about the old characters (aang, sokka, zuko, etc) searching for zuko’s mom and finding out what really happened. That would make an AMAZING story…..
I am the biggest avatar fan in the world. Saw every episode. Can’t wait for the show I’m speechless. The knew show got more industrial less ancient. Plus Korras hot.
PEOPLEE!!! use your heads!!! It wouldnt make any sense if Aang was in this series because he was the avatar and the new series is about the new avatar KORRA!!! It wouldnt make sense to have Aang and Korra alive at the same time! And its quite annoying to hear people say this sucks and all! well then get over it dont watch it … and plus its only the first episode!! and if you dislike it so much go watch another show
The most outstanding part for me was the background music. It clearly was prominent throughout the episode. A mix of that traditional Chinese music and Western jazz. In fact, this reminds me again of the music in the Uncharted 2 game.
“Did anyone else say “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!” when Katara didn’t finish saying what happened to Zuko’s mom? ”
Actually at first I held my breath than I almost split myself laughing When I realised how many hypped up fans were going to explode when they missed it out.
I have a strange feeling that it’s going to be like the almost revelation of Timmy Turner’s parents real first names in Fairly Odd Parents.
Wait Toph has a daughter? Wow looking at her profile you’d think she’d probably adopted. Also shouldn’t Toph still be alive? She was the Youngest after all, but knowing her she probably fell down a flight of stairs. And why am I not surprised there’s a masked villain? It was kinda expected. after all it is Nickelodeon. :\
Well… It was a bit fast, but I like it. We are introduced into some problems, and I think the characters are kinda cool so far. I’m not really into the voice actors yet, but I’m sure they’ll get better when they learn more about their characters and have a bit more practice or whatever. XD I like the art. So really, I’m sure it will get better. The original was great, so my expectations are high. I like it so far. But until later a bit later… 7/10. Mostly for voice acting. I dunno, I just didn’t like it. Haha.
@Zebrasays: How can there there be two Vampire Slayers. But there were. Somehow aang died but then came back, and is living on a secret island, or she will see him in a vision quest, either way i’m happy
This show looks promising, can’t wait to see the next episode. Although, I’m really missing Aang… I wish they had a series that showed what happened to Aang and the group after the events of Sozin’s Comet.
*sigh* I tried to throw out the original…watching this…was….dull compared to the first episode of “The Last Airbender”….and no…I am not hating…I am stating my opinion like everyone else is….calling someone a hater because they don’t agree with you is childish…anyways…I found this dull…I know characters grow up and stuff…I know it would be boring if they didn’t….but…I guess I don’t like the whole 1920-1930′s era…with cars…and more modern society. I liked the time it take places in the last airbender…..wish they just would’ve made them grow up a little and have a different plot/story…like Naruto…Naruto Characters are growing up as the anime continues and it’s awesome! We saw them from kids to teenagers and hopefully we see them through adult-hood…I’ll give this show another shot….but so far I find it dull and lame =/ and the voice actors aren’t….I don’t know…..they could’ve been better?
Anyways….to the people that loved it…I envy u!!!! hahaha wish I felt the same!
Watching this episode and halfway through I’m already getting teary-eyed. The realization that almost all of my favorite characters in the original series are dead makes me kinda depressed… but the fact that the legacy of them continuing with their children makes me kinda happy too. It’s a mixed emotion ;_;
Seriously. This may air on Nickelodeon, but I indeed hope they tried not to forget almost half their demographic are adults. If they did their research they’ll find that those mixed shows are actually the most popular.
I like the characters so far, I’m excited to see where it goes. The one thing that annoyed me is Katara’s face apparently morphed as she aged, or her jaw was replaced with a square, but what ever, cant be picky. I suppose it help her look old.
The sad thing is.. I miss the old gaang, and I miss the old world of Avatar yes I know things have to change but I still miss them the old world seems much more magical and this new world of 70 years later is just too similiar to ours Korra better make it up with badass action and more serious drama/political things going on
too far out maybe ang should have not died and saka and momo and everyone else, so maybe a new beggining of the old avitar not having to die for the new one to be born and ang would be the master avitar
The Legend of Korra will never be as good as The Last Airbender, but it will be a nice continuation. :) I mean, nothing will top Sokka’s nerdiness, Toph’s BAMF-ness and her strength, Zuko’s awkwardness, and Aangs hilarious and moving ways. And even though Katara is still alive, nothing will top her determination in The Last Airbender; she was as strong a leader as anyone. The Gaang will always be missed, and the best of best, but still, I can’t help from nerding all over when I watch this! xD
i will admit that i really liked the main characters in the first series, but this one is very promising. i laughed my butt of when the kid was gnawing on his dad’s head lol. i can’t wait for more episodes, but there’s also some questions i want answered >.<
this is amazing! im sure the new generation of avatar will be as awesome as the previous one. The first few episodes are always a little boring, but because of the excitement i kind of enjoyed this one :D
@Zebra I think you are the one who should think more. If you don’t recall from previous episodes of avatar Ang enters the Avatar state many times throughout the series. There is one specific time that Ang (an avatar) conversed with Roku (a previous avatar). In case you can’t connect the dots, possibly Korra (the current avatar) and Ang (the previous avatar) will enter the avatar state, such as Ang did when he was avatar, and possibly talk with Korra to give her words of wisdom. That is how Ang can be incorporated into the series, which is inevitable to happen. BUT to answer the question YOU asked “how the hell can Ang (an avatar) and Korra (an avatar to) be alive at the same time.” There is no way. Whether or not Ang and Korra can be in the same series together is completely different than Ang and Korra being alive at the same time.
Scorched… Really? You can tell that its not as good as the original from the VERY FIRST EPISODE? The only reason your saying that is because of the common conception of “the original is better” or when it comes to movies “The first movie of the sequel was better” which is for the most part true but it doesn’t work under this circumstance because as stated earlier… THIS IS THE VERY FIRST EPISODE!!! Be patient. Some of the greatest TV shows start off bland but get better. You know what makes it better? Buildup of Characterization and plot which you CANNOT get from watching the very first episode…
So far good, it’s funny because the best parts of the last series was during the ba sing se episodes in season 2. So i see alot of potential in this. Hope it’s more mature and darker, because it seems like the creators know their fans aren’t exactly 9 year olds :P
Also this is a new series….not season 4….enough with holding on to the past. I liked it too but seriously people are complaining about the dumbest things.
In the opening credits, when Tenzin narrates: “Earth, Fire, Air, Water” those are the past Avatars, right? that means the one bending air is an older Aang from the original series. I guess.
hmmm Im not sure i like it right now but im going to give it a try. but when i saw the metaL bending i was like huh? isnt tauf the best earth bender in the world only suppose to know how to metal bend only was kinda mad when i seen it but got over it..but i hope its like the other avatar when they travel and go on adventures but i can tell its not going to be like that at all..but im going to give it a shot and watch a little more. hopes there romance in this to make it better.
I have to say i’m 17 now and it’s been a long time since i’ve watched anime or any cartoon really for the matter… I have to say though. I actually enjoyed that episode. as kiddy as it might sound… I have a feeling this is going to be a good series. I will have to watch it online if I do watch it because we don’t have cable.. :U so no nickolodeon.. :c my bf has cable but ill just watch this on my own me time cause i know he wouldnt want to and i can understand i mean… he is 20.. im really too old to be watch this but it looks like its gunna be interesting and as a “huge” fan of the old avatar series I have to see it! so will be keeping a lookout for episode 2 and future episodes.. :3 I hope yall keep it updated!
i know who the man in the mask is if i know anime right i would say its admiral Zhao from book 1 season finale we thought he died well just a guess when he reveals himself early on n the show we will see
I love how that little girl is blowing off questions that millons of fans wanted to know. Zuko’s mom!
Other than that, this really looks interesting. I’ve got high hopes for this new avatar.
P.S. And to the previous avatar…our avatar…all i can say is Good Job, and Thanks for the great journey my friend=) Rest in peace…you have earned it =’)
Does anyone know who toph’s husband is and if Zuko and may had a child? And just saying how would Toph’s child lyn have the last name Bafong wouldn’t she have her fathers last name?
For all those saying Ang can’t be in this series, you are mistaken. He can be in it once Korra enters the spirit world. I have a feeling there will be many trips to the spirit world with Ang.
To all the people who think Aang should make an appearance. The only way this would happen is the same way Avatar Roku appeared to Aang in the Last Airbender, spiriually.
And to the people who say Tenzin can’t be an Airbender because Aang was the last one due to the fire nation’s genocide on the Air Nomads, Think about it, Aang and Katara have children, why would the Airbending abilities not be passed down?
So, doing the math, Aang was 12 during the original series. Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the end of the original series, and Korra is 17. 70-17=53 53+12=65 Aang only lived to be 65!?!? I feel that being too short of a life, especially for an Avatar, and the 100 years he was frozen hardly count because he was preserved.
Why does Steven Jay Blum always play the bad guy? >.< (Ok, usually…although he was badass as Darcia from Wolf's Rain) This is gonna be so good!! :D …I just hope they introduce a character like Iroh, he was so awesome.
FYI, Anime is defined as animation from Japan. Avatar is not anime, Spongebob is not anime. Pokémon is anime, Dragonball Z is anime. Totally Spies is not anime. Naruto is anime. See where I’m going with this? If you have to comment, at least do your research.
Great that Blum’s involved with this show but if he commented here it would probably be= eff you pirates, you’re the reason bandai has suffered such a blow, you people are sick and should seek help. Bang. or something similar (check his facebook for his rant on piracy). Did hit me for about a week but whatever, still happily dling.
Avatar; the Last Airbender series will always be great. To all you people who are complaining this show not having Aang as the main character, I think the creators of this show know what they’re doing a lot more than you do.
Besides, Aang will definitely make an appearance as Korra’s spiritual guide. He’s in the opening sequence, a lot older, and with new clothing Why would they go through the trouble of designing Aang older to only put him in the opening sequence.
i dont know about some of these other comments but im just glad i can finally see something that i hav waited insanely patently for it has been wayyy too long and im over joyed to see one of my favorite shows ever com back even if its basically a whole new series :D
So… judging by the date of the first comment, the episodes are being released on Saturdays? I’m curious to see when the next episode is so I can post to my readers when it will be aired.
OMG ive been waiting for this forever! ^_^ I hope Korra uses Aang as a spiritual guide like Aang did for Roku in the first show. Its really sad to see Zuko gone, I would have loved to hear about what happened to his mom, and see his reaction but oh well, I guess a new show is better than a direct sequel since it would be easy to ruin that way. Love this so far! Cant wait to see episode 2!!!
That was amazing and it does seem like this series will have a much more serious tone to it. Although, I will admit that I will deeply miss the sillyness and humour that made the first series truly top shelf.
Ugh, way too modern looking. I wish they had more traditional asian clothes at least for the republic city. I dunno, I just don’t like how it’s like 20th century inspired clothes. It should be more fantasy themed etc
It was the loopy things that made me realize it was katara… the thing i hate about these forums is people dissing on other peoples ideas and thoughts, we may not like your ideas ,you may not like ours. great start btw
Remember halfway through the series Aang got struck by lightening and technically “died” for a very brief time? They could’ve swung it that they cycle started again regardless of the fact that he was brought back by Katara’s special moon water.
Do any of you people realize that Dark Horse Comics is doing a graphic novel trilogy on the Avatar: The Last Airbender depicting what happens after the events of Sozin’s Comet? Sheesh…does anyone here do ANY research? If you want to know what happens then find the first graphic novel in the series and read it and then wait for the next one. Or….you can hop on over to youtube and search up Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Promise. I’m sure someone made a slideshow of the book.
Wow, you people are so stuck in the past. Why are you complaining? Is that all people ever do? THEY CONTINUED THE STORY, and this episode is great at that! Complaining about the music? What do you know? It’s great! It’s a new show and generation. I’m already liking this more complex story. The humor is funny, the characters are great, the animation is superb, and I can’t wait for more.
Personally, I thought everything was amazing. The voice acting, the way the characters turned out, the plot, the way they made naga kind of like Appa, Korra NOT like Aang but instead a fresh take on the way the Avatar should be, the way that Korra COMPLETELY kicks ass, and how Toph’s daughter is just as hard-headed as her, bringing back those great Toph memories. I also loved Korra as a little girl! Adorable! At first, I was reluctant to get on board for “The Legend Of Korra”, but then I realized that maybe they were just scared of disappointing us! I mean, it would have been several years since the last episode of “The Last Airbender” series, and it would have been hard to get back on track. Plus, without the whole 100 year war against the Fire Nation going on, there wouldn’t have been ANYTHING interesting happening! Sure, I would love to know what happened after, and also have a ton of unanswered questions answered, but I am absolutely in LOVE with Korra. She gives a great name to both women and waterbenders alike. I love her determination and free-will, and it’s awesome how she had absolutely NO trouble at all mastering fire-bending! So happy, and CANNOT wait for the next episode!
For the blind nostalgiatards that are complaining on THE FIRST EPISODE to make shitty useless Youtube vids complaining about how Legend of Korra “ruined” the Avatar series and how the creators should’ve stuck with Aang and the gAang. The Avatar fanbase is slowly turning into the Sonic and Pokemon fanbas.
If Katara is still alive, then whatever happened to Soka? I’m kind of disappointed that they’re not going to be showing the original cast anymore, but i guess the new big city setting kind of balances it out. This may be a nice change for the series.
i should bitch slap all of you, dont dare to say that this has faults and even if it does why should anyone care im just thrilled they have made another series
To al the people so far that commented on any possible way , that Ang should be in this serie to ; PLeas think just a little bit more , how the hell can Ang (an avatar) and Korra (an avatar to) be alive at the same time.
WOW! They got Steve Blum on here! For anyone who doesn’t know him he is a BIG anime voice actor. He voices for Orochimaru(Naruto), Spike (Cowboy Bebop),and Vincent Valintine(Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children). And for the people that thought the voice acting wasn’t good. He is a A list. As for me I enjoyed the show. The music match the atmosphere of the city very well. I totally understand if some people didn’t like jazz, but that doesn’t mean the show sucked only because “Oh that music was so lame or voice acting was not as great. Just give the show a chance, many other fans have been waiting since they ended it. I’m still gonna watch it and Love it ^_^
@Some Guy: FYI, cartoons = animation = anime. They’re all the same thing. Just because it’s from America, doesn’t mean it isn’t anime. Anime is just a shortened word for animation not animation from a specific country. So in other words, shows like Avatar The Last Airbender, Spongebob, Tom & Jerry, etc. are considered anime. Even in Japan, they call American animated shows anime.
This is awesome, I know why people are so upset about how they’re not talking about the old gang but sticking with those kind of things can bring to awful sequels, you know wich ones. They offer us something new, something fresh so stop complaining, empty your mind and enjoy this new serie!
Well you have to realize that this story would be impossible if Aang were alive. In order for there to be a new avatar the previous one had to of been dead. With that being said, im pretty sure in the future we will see plenty of flash back episodes of what has been going on with the old crew. Chance is scary but i personally feel that the creators of this show hit the mark with this first episode and i wish the rest of this series is just as exciting.
I love the animation of this new series, and how they set it at a time where it feels new and fresh, rather than trying to follow in the footsteps of the previous series. The voice acting list is what interested me most when I first saw it; actors JK Simmons and Lance Hendrixson, as well as everyone else coming from serial drama as opposed to voice actors who do animation as a profession. I’m defiantly looking forward to seeing more.
Now that…was interesting. It looks like this series has a more serious attitude going on than the first one. I can’t say i found it super-wow-awesome, but it is quite intruiging. I also really liked the music. It gives a “Baccano” tone to the fight scenes. Which is pretty awesome. Loved the animation too. Looking forward to episode two!!!! :D
I wonder if Zuko’s mom will be a running trolling joke in Korra.
Street Vendor: Hey, I think I heard that Zuko’s mom- *run over by Satomobile* Bolin: I know what happened to Zuko’s mom; she- *kidnapped by Equalists* Mako: Oh yeah, I heard that. She- *dies in horrible scarf accident*
The only people confirmed dead are Sokka, and Aang which is obvious because if he were alive there wouldn’t be a next avatar. This takes place 70 years in the future so it’s no surprise Sokka is dead.
Katara may die soon because if we remember Aunt Wuu’s prediction, she’s supposed to pass away after the birth of her 4th grandchild and Tenzin’s wife is pregnant with their 4th.
I admit, I was expecting something else. Like Aang and co. a little older. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like what they’ve brought out. I think it’s great! The animation is so much better than the first and I really like Korra! Haha, I can’t wait until the next episode!! I also really hope that they reveal what happened to Zuko’s mum because that has been really irritating not knowing what happened to her! Anyway, I’m loving it so far!
I actually like it a lot. Before watching this, i had the brightest idea in the world and re-watched the first episode of the original series, and i actually liked this a little more. It didn’t have the mystery and the ambitions of the first series, but it does have character and charm. I really like tenzin and hopes his wife becomes a character like sokka hahaha and i hope that we get to see more of Katara. Korra has to win me over a little bit because she’s a little cocky but very bad ass, i kinda think she should tone it down or the writers should teach her some humility quick. Plus we need a “Sokka” quick to make this show funny and better villain. Having a mask on =/= good villain. But great start
This is incredible!!!! I’m sure everything will be revealed in the later episodes, and Katara!?!?! I shit myself when I saw who she was, I’m so sad she’s old :(((( but the new avatar Korra is incredible!!! I want to see the old crew as adults; I’m sure that was Aang in the intro. This show is going to be badass. People, give this show a chance, nothing is like the original, but this show is special in its own way, so goodbye Avatar Aang, hello Avatar Korra!!!! XD
I was suggested this blog by my cousin. I am not sure whether this post is written by him as no one else know such detailed about my difficulty. You’re incredible! Thanks!
OMG thank you tumblr for leading me here! and D: NNOOO i wanna know what happened to zuko’s mom! ;A; i wonder if everyone’s story will be explained later on in the series. xD i really like the setting in republic city. it reminds me a lot of the chinese dramas which the western culture is being incoporated with chinese culture.
Actually they are Avatar Kyoshi, Avatar Roku, possibly an older Aang(I believe you got that part right), and Korra. This time, all the opening benders are avatars.
I think they did right by not have the rest of the original Gang on the show because they would be just as old as (if not, older than) Katara. I’m pretty sure no one wants to see Elder Aang get captured and end up as Roku did. Still gonna watch it as I have questions about Amon(sp?). They are non/anti benders? Did they learn how to cancel out bending like Aang did to Ozai? Is he one of Aang’s kids? Where is the rest of his family? I guess only time will tell though.
As far as the series is concerned, I REALLY enjoyed it. Both the Last Airbender and now the Legend of Korra. I find rather astounding about how it went, the characters are likable, the comedic charms of the old series is still there with a piece of the previous characters we all knew and loved(seen within their offspring), the music really helped illustrate the mood(for I am a sucker for a good soundtrack), plus the animation along with the art style of the characters and scenery are absolutely breath-taking and beautiful.
I think this series is off to a great start. What I find rather annoying is people complaining and whining over the fact the previous characters aren’t alive to be seen in the next one. This is NEW series, it may be connected to the old, however that does NOT mean it will keep the same characters around. If you keep them around the series may grow stagnant and stale, with a little change there is such a thing as evolution, which something may people want to see in life. Much like how the directors want to see THIS particular series evolve from a child friendly show to something abit more mature. There are things we as fans and as people got to learn how to adjust to change. Thats part of having an open mind(For you see that Katara had no problem letting Korra go on her journey because times have changed and she sees that she must grow in her own way). Lets appreciate what the creators done for us, letting us see this wonderful work of art they put together. Let go of you expectations and watch with an open mind.
Am I the only one who noticed the guy living in that bush is very similar to, Dock/Xu/Bushi from the Painted Lady episode of Avatar? He looks like a younger version of him and sounds like him. If he reappears claiming to be his own brother, then the similarity will be confirmed. I miss Avatar: The Last Airbender, but I won’t let that stop me from watching this.
You people are stupid. In the original series they clearly stated, when an avatar dies a new one is born. If Aang didn’t die Korra wouldn’t be an avatar. Also this is only the first episode you have all season to find out what happened to the first seasons’ cast. I think I heard rumors of them possibly bringing Azula back btw
besides she is the avatar its not like there not gonna give her a scene where she meets aang in the spiritual world im really looking forward to this show
continued- besides she is the avatar its not like there not gonna give her a scene where she meets aang in the spiritual world im really looking forward to this show
idk i liked this i like the way they incorporated the old characters in the story instead of starting a completely different story with some random character. think about if they would have explained how aang made the city and everything thing in the middle they would have ruined the story a little besides were eventually gonna find out all that stuff as this story unfolds i think they did a great job starting off this series even though it is sad hearing that everybody else has died im sure this story wont disappoint besides she is the avatar its not like there not gonna give her a scene where she meets aang in the spiritual world im really looking forward to this show

Amazing animation as well as the choreography in the fight scenes. Yes, I know many people are disappointed that there were not that much mention of the back story, but remember these two things: 1) This is only the first episode. I am sure there will be more explanations later. The creators where even nice enough to tease up a little bit by mentioning Zuko’s mother. 2) This is a brand new story line that revolves around KORRA. Not Aang. Not Zuko. Not Toph. It is about KORRA and her story. If you look at opening title credits, it says “The Legend of Korra” and makes no reference whatsoever of its relations to “The Last Airbender”.
I think whatever the creators have up planned is genius. Just from this first episode, you can already see how much the landscape has changed since the time of Aangs adventure. They now have cars and a metropolitan city, which is a great change from people depending on mythical animals for their transportation (or bending… remember when Earthbenders were the drivers of the trains at Ba Sing Se?). It is reminiscent of the rise of the Industrial Revolution in the U.S. during the 1900s, where lots of cultural, social, and political changes were also coming into place–which really mirrors what is going on in the Avatar universe.
10/10 Perfect! This is exactly what was necessary, a new world and conflict that is fresh and beautiful. For those complaining about the technology, read history! Great technological advances always come out of military breakthroughs (like the firebenders tanks, blimps, etc.) It makes sense that they would have metropolis similar to NYC. PS Avatar Aang found a herd of sky bison which explains how Tenzin and his awesome family got one. Mike and Brian, you mofo’s are badass
This episode did have a little bit of an awkward feeling, but so did the first episode of the first series, and look at how awesome that turned out to be. I just think it is going to take a little bit of getting used to, with all new characters, a new plot, and worst of all… the absence of Sokka’s complaining and sarcasm.
The change between the series is just too great. For starters it feels like it shifted from targeting a shounen audience to a shoujo, it lost its otherworld charm with the quick adoption of technology, and the voice acting doesn’t sound believable. The message came perfectly clear that they wanted a completely new audience when they detached the series from all the familiar faces of the last series. I don’t think the series is necessarily a flop, it just doesn’t appeal to my tastes anymore.
And to the person cheering that the girls are no longer “crying or being kidnapped every second” you must have been watching a completely different series from the first avatar. Every female character in that show was already a poster child for female empowerment.
..- i know how u feel HeartAnimeManga.. :l but we cant have Korra if the avatar before her doesnt die.. so thats the reason why they have to kill Aang in this sequel so that the avatar can be reborn in a different nation and continue the avatar cycle.. i kinda understand why they had to say Aang is dead but as for the others.. i wish they at least made them as old as katara or something.. :l or if they absolutely have to kill the old chars.. they should at least release a movie about what happened aftr Aang restored peace in their world.. then made the first episode of legend of Korra as a sequel for that movie.. :I
Hey, since Katara’s alive, there’s a small chance that Toph’s alive too. Calling someone an idiot doesn’t make you any smarter, dumbass. Now quit PMSing and enjoy this awesome show.
so when is the next episode, cause that was amazing I Loved it and also why are you guys complaining about the voice acting it was great it fit the characters perfectly I don’t now what half you guys are talking about.
Right, but the evolution of firearms/industrialism/mechanics in our world was quite drastic and sudden as well. And if you look back at the original series, those flying war ships were many times more extravagant than a car or rifle. It’s no big surprise that in 100 years they were able to develop automobiles as well.
AMEN. This is American made, so all these anime-lovers can gtfo if they don’t like it. Stop mentioning its a anime and go watch some anime. I seriously hate obssessive anime no-life nerds who praise Japan like they are gods. Sure I like Japan and their culture but I hate all these worshippers who always gotta say “Oh the Japanese are better! xD xD xD And I think the voice acting is top-notch I don’t know why people don’t like it maybe because they are so used to hearing Japanese!
Well, Aang kind of HAS to be dead, and since he was the youngest of the group it kind of stands to reason. It’s too early to say we won’t see the rest of them as adults, since Korra has her past lives at her disposal–we can still hope for flashbacks from Aang. As for the technology, I see where you’re coming from. Still, given how far the Fire Nation had already advanced, seventy years is more than enough time for this kind of industrial revolution. It’ll take some getting used to, but this show has my full support! :D
Wow. Can’t imagine a better sequel to the greatest show. Korra is the exact opposite of Aang in everything, they balanced this perfectly. I actually love the city-ish feel of it; it’s not like the original series, and that is GOOD. There can’t be repeats in a show like this, it will get old. And I love the idea of the Anti-Benders. Although I do miss Aang, Sokka, Zuko, Toph, and all those amazing characters, I think the new ones are gonna be great. Old Katara <3 Kinda makes me sad but life goes on, and I love the sybolism to that. I cannot WAIT to see Korra meet Aang in the Spirit World! I can't wait to see Aang older than 12! Ahhh! So many amazing possibilities this opened up! The music is also fantastic, I love the different feel to it. CANNOT WAIT to see how the next episodes come! Yay Legend of Korra! <3
Well there may always be flashbacks, im hoping there will be. Korra is going to obviously talk to Aang in his spirit form like Aang did to the previous avatar, so there is still a chance for that. So for all of you who want to see the old characters and how they were, their children may be the key part in that =) hopefuly they feel nostalgic and talk about their parents =)
zuko has a child witch is a girl also but we have not seen them yet and ang will be koras spirit guide like how ang had one also before ang died he was flying and found a temple filled with flying bisons
Wow. The difference in society between the different generations was shocking for me. I loved the charmingly built towns from Aang’s gen. The differences between those old towns & cities and the awfully familiar modern scenery now really is a shock.
You guys do realize that we will be seeing a ton of Aang right… I mean when Korra does the whole avatar comunication thing… We’ll get more info later on.
I absoluetly loved it, the animation in great, the voice acting is great and the music is great, i also love that the characters are older, instead of making them young again for a new generation of kids (like pokemon) the show is now aiming for the same kids who are now teenagers and who can relate to korra
The quote was actually “you shall live to see your third great grandchild before passing away quietly in you sleep.” And the point of that episode was that fate isn’t written and you can change your fate if you wish. So relying on that is unwise
sweet series, brings back the good old days of the original avatar, and even though this is new, it still has the spark that kept me so interested in the original avatar :D
Wow fantastic! Its off to a good start! can’t wait for the rest!! But I do hope that in this new series they show backflashes of what happen to all of the old characters from the Avatar the Last Airbender. I really want to know how Aang died, what happen to Momo and Appa, what happen to Zuko, Mai, Ty Lee, Sokka, Toph, Uncle Iroh, King Ozai, Azula and what happened to Zuko’s MOM!!!!!!!!!
Guys, look at the title of the show. It is “The Legend of KORRA.” The show is about KORRA, no longer about aang. Dont expect them to touch base on what happened in the old show. This show is about a new legacy. If you want to conclude Aangs legacy, read “The Promise”
It was great! I still can’t believe it . . . I watched it yesterday and when I woke up, I’m like, “Was that all just a dream?” And then I watched it again and I still couldn’t believe what I saw. And I’m still in the “super addicted” stage of Avatar, so it’s gonna get some getting used to with everyone (besides Katara) dead and Aang (my cartoon crush) gone forever and replaced with some teenage girl! And then there’s the problem that every time I see Tenzin, I have to remind myself that he’s Aang’s son and NOT AANG and that Pema is Pema and not Katara! Ugh! This is gonna take a long time . . .
But besides that, I loved it and I feel like fainting when I see it every time! It’s just so wonderful! I think it will take a while for me to adjust to, but in all it was great. And people have to remember that humans are ingenioused and that yes, there will be high-tech stuff because it’s about 70 year into the future! That’s a long time for production of technology to take place. I mean, before 1990, not a lot of people knew what cell phones were and now we have touch screens almost 20 years later! See what I mean? 70 years is a lot for production to happen. But I still like it and I think it’s very cute and acurate what the producers did to the show. I think that I will love it no matter how dead everyone is.
This was epic! I love her character, she’s so badass.Cnt wait to see the rest of the series and how it progresses.I already knew about the April 14 release date,I wasn’t excepting this..Yesss! haha
I understand what a lot of people are saying about being sad seeing as all the old characters are pretty much dead. It’s heartbreaking, because I love those characters more than I’ve ever loved anything outside of friends and family and I hate knowing they’re mostly dead. But life does go on and I definitely think this looks promising. I already love Tenzin and Korra. Also, being a huge fanfiction nerd, I’m thinking perhaps it’s good that the rest of the original characters’ stories weren’t written out in this sequel, because that leaves room for the fans to imagine it however they want, which I certainly enjoy being able to take the liberty of doing, personally.
uhm. I don’t really know what to say.. but I’m a little disapointed.. I mean seriously ? Everyone died besides Katara ? It was just too fast..idk. I would like to see AaNG&Co. when they were adults.. cars, bridges.. ? Ahh I really dont know.. I loved how in the 1 series they did not even had guns or something..
:( Im… really…not happy about that.. whatever im still gona watch it..
You guys act like M. Night. Shyamalan made “Legend of Korra”. Just because it’s a sequel does not automatically make it bad in comparision to the original. If you watch a series with that already in mind, of course it’s gonna suck! Just enjoy it for what it is!
I waited a year for this show to come out and boy was the wait worth it!!! That was an AMAZING first episode!
For all those fans who watched this episode and are surprisingly disappointed, I want you guys to remember how the first series started out. It was meant for a younger audience, had choppy animation, aang was immature and way too playful, and there wasn’t much character development. By the time we watched more episodes and more seasons, none of those things were true.
Of course Korra is way too headstrong for an avatar. There’s still 25 more episodes to watch of the series!!! Be Patient!! If you fans really appreciated the work of Mike and Bryan last time, just know that they’ll definitely pull through this time! Chillax and quit being so damn critical!
Did anyone else say “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!” when Katara didn’t finish saying what happened to Zuko’s mom? LOL Love this, must….watch…..more….Korra!!! I really think they did a great job with this I can’t wait to see the rest of the series. I think Toph’s daughter is great lol Remember, Toph was the Blind Bandit, and tough and matter of fact, with a bit of Sokka humor. While her daughter doesn’t seem to be a clown, her attitude fits the bill. I am interested in seeing who Amon is though, I think there’s something big behind him, time will tell. But SERIOUSLY! What happened to Zuko’s mom?
I dont no what people are talking about i love it the voice acting wasnt bad it was pretty good almost as good as the first avatar and the visual are fanstaic and the soundtrack WOW i love the mordern theme and that Korra is a bad ass chick cant wait for MOAAAAAA also we got trolled at 5:26 to 5.49 ahahha i wnat to NOO what happened so much omg im nerding all over the floor hahahah
holy…crap. WOW. this is amazing. the music..the feel..the characters…it’s unbelievable. the animation is even crisper and cleaner than the first one…more fluid too. the art is astounding…oh man…i gotta have more!! and i am LOVING the more serious and older? atmosphere of the series. definitely awesome.
So many people complaining about certain characters from the previous series not existing 70 years later, and doing so ignorantly enough to ignore how incredible everything else was. I can’t possibly think of anything the creators of the series could have done better. Without trying to sound like a fanboy, this was a perfect start for a series I look forward to watching more of. Anybody who refuses to watch it because it lacks a character you enjoyed is an idiot.
akiyukix I will admit that I might be in some denial, but I never assume about an anime or cartoon before watching it. I was really looking forward to The Legend of Korra. When I found out it was suppose to be some of the best animations made, I was supper exited! It really shows too(Amazing!). But i’m just stated my opinion as of now. There are many sequels that are as or better than the original. The Batman movies as one example.(ones with Christian Bale). Well I cant wait to watch more just not impressed YET. Oh Toph’s daughter may be a hard ass because she had Toph as a MOTHER! Just a thought:)
“WHat happened to zukos mom?” “Well its a long and interesting story-” *Gets interrupted* WHY!?!?!? My brother and many of my friends are now gone. NO!!!!
I would have liked to see Zoka Old and heard old jokes Zoka style that would have been awesome. Is good but is not funny the jokes on the first episodes sucks.
for those of you that are kids or what have you David Faustino played Bud on Married With Children a rather funny series that had 13 seasons and ran for 10 years
I don’t know what to say yet. I feel like they should’ve stuck with Aang and the original crew and shown the hardship of creating what they have now. What stood in the way and what happened to Zuko’s Mom, and what became of Azula, and Ozai? Those are important and I would rather see this than hear about it in another version of the story.
this was an amazing episode! can people please STOP fighting bout whether this is gonna be better than the last airbender! i cried while watching the first episode because almost everyone is dead and Katara is coming onto her final years (surprised that Toph died before her, considering she was younger, although something may of happen to her). i hope they explain what happen to Zuko’s mother, i looove the little girl who was smart like that and asked that question bout her! toph’s daughter is a jerk and aang and katara’s son and grandchildren are awesome as well. i hope we get to see more of the children of the group..
THIS IS AWESOME!!!! but there’s a few things that I don’t get about the series. How did Apa have offspring? Also, how have the people not learned their lesson and not made teaching the Avatar a #1 priority? It seems that after going 100 years of not having an Avatar and seeing the problems that it causes, they would’ve IMMEDIATELY trained Korra.
1) I’m sad that the “original gang” is basically all dead but Katara. I loved those guys, especially Zuko and Toph. It’s a shame they’re out of the picture… I just don’t like the idea of main characters being dead or really old in the sequel… that usually doesn’t happen. Usually you see the main characters as adults w/ kids and a house and married in the sequel… I guess the gang were technically like… 13-16 years old, so young adults, but still…
2) That was pretty quick learning. She was like, 3 years old and she could already do all that! Damn…
3) I wonder how much plot they’re gonna have if she just has to learn one more element. Of course it’ll probably be “she gets sidetracked/reeled into this group/person’s dilemma” yadda yadda yadda… How much of a story is there gonna be?
I just remembered, in the journey of Aang, when they found the fortune teller in the episode that they saved a village from a volcano, Katara got the fortune that she would live to see her fourth grandchild and then die in her sleep… So, she has three grandchildren already and her daughter in law is pregnant with the fourth. I’m hoping you know what I’m saying to.
Somehow, I was disappointed. Korra gets on my nerves and I know this is just the first episode, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how she develops.
I have to say I’m bit surprise by the early apperance of Korra, not that I’m complaining. I just didn’t expect it for another month.
The episode itself was pretty interesting I am hungry for more. I was especailly surprised that Katara was alive, since I had heard that none of the Characters would be alive in this timeline.
I was also surprised of how Toph’s daughter was like, she alot different from what her mother was like, as is Tenzin compared to his father. Altough his children are very much like their Grandfather when he was young.
I’m eager to hear more of what happened to the Characters between the end of of the Last Airbender to this point in time and to see if we meet any other children from the old gang.
I swear, a large majority of the fan-base must live under a rock or something….
Mike & Bryan have been working so hard on this series, and it totally shows. When the HD version comes out, the details of their work will be all the more apparent.
This episode definitely kicked off the series on a good note and showed that the wait was worth it. Well made, well directed, well drawn, well acted, and overall just a perfect continuation of the lore.
For those wondering if old characters will return in flashbacks, Mike & Bryan previously said they would not be, so don’t get your hopes up.
the visuals were beautiful!!! and the music was perfect, the show is more mature which is nice since it shows that the creators have take their audience in consideration. I still need more episode to judge plot-wise but from what we’ve seen it looks promising. really excited for this season
aftershock i belive your in the stage of denial that most fans are in when ever they bring back a show. That this show is not going to be as good as the previous one. Its like with movies. People always assume that a sequel is always going to be worst then the original so that even when they see it they’re mind turns everything good about it into a bad thing. Not one of those characters were boring. I really want to know more about angs son, kataras past as being angs wife, why tofs daughter is such a hard ass, and who the heck is emon. Also the animation has greatly improved from he first even considering the first show had FANTASTIC animation.
Unfortunately, I must agree with everything said. Did they really take out the blind super heroine (Toph) REALLY? Yeah, way to go, that’s how you really make things interesting. I’m frankly, quite dissapointed. Tis a shame, a damn shame.
well one of the good things here are the animatiion there a billion times better than the old one plus the time period is more of a now and back then time .also I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS CHICK she ain’t one of those girl benders who would be like OMG IM THE AVATAR eeeeek but this chick is ” hey im the avatar YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT” not only the best line ever but better introduction to the new character . is this a anime to keep up with . I say yes
Well I love AVATAR so watching this was a MUST Finally a show where the girl can kick ass and she aint crying or being kidnapped every second episode XD The animation was good and there was an element of comedy also glad we wont have to watch her learn the other elements the voices could be better but so glad DH got this episode up!!
watched avatar the last aoirbender then when to wiki to see what happend to zukos mother case the show never said and found out this was to air spring of this year i am a anime fanatic at the time i posted this comment ther was 20 comments sum ppl gripping about it well missy this searis is based in the early years of the big citys as i say sum 1 say the 1920s and that looks about right 1910 to 1920′s big citys and it looks like rebulic city is 1920s ney york that is all.
ps: if u dont like go fuck ur self its a great start for a nicalodioan show that is compoerd to most nick shows
pss: i thant the makers of the anime very much for doing the new searys i thank nickalodian for granting thins 16 or 18 episodes to make 2 seassions with i think thers doing an amazing jod and plz for the love of god dont let then fuck upo the real life movie like they did the 1st 1.
psss:i rate this ep compaierd to awsome animays iv seen over the years a 10 of 10 voice actors so far 9 of 10 back ground details 20 of 10
Man! I’m kinda disappointed in this episode. I mean the soundtrack sucks and the characters aren’t cool. But the worst thing is that this show has no flow! In Avatar the opener drew you in right off the bat and the episode kept it going but in this episode it did the opposite! Boring Mans voice and not Katara’s. Hopefully this gets better I don’t want it to bring shame to Avatar the last air bender which is AWESOME….tear.
But side note: I bet there’s going to be flashbacks where they bring everyone back! that’s why they brought up Zuko’s mom. Heres hoping!
WOW! the animation as improved tremendously i mean the facial expressions when korra and tohs daughter did that hand motion thing with the two fingers was to real, and when she shrugged back it had me rollin, ugh i want to see the next episode so bad but the show doesn’t actually premiere until april. Only complaint i have is that the story progression seems a bit fast paced and things just seem to come to easy for korra in terms of her having her way, as far as knowing three bending styles since child hood, that doesn’t bother me that much.
Though Aang’s son may not be like him.. his grand kids sure are!! Ahahaha they’re so hyperactive and adorable!!!! Also my favorite quote is definitely: “I’M THE AVATAR! YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT!” AhhhH!! Little Korra is adorable! <3
Animation is “almost as good as a normal anime”? Please. The first 5 minutes of animation alone was better than a standard anime. The soundtrack does not in any way shape or form, “suck”. If you saw the 1920′s backdrop of the city, then you’d know that the music fits in extremely well. But that probably slipped your mind, right? Voice acting isn’t up to YOUR expectations. I’m sorry princess, maybe the voice actors will try harder next time.
goods: comedy and action balanced good cliffhanger animation is almost as good as a normal anime
bads: soundtrack sucks(really that jazzy chase music is so unfitting) jokes are cliche voice acting not impressive enough its really not up to MY expectations not emotional i had the same face the whole episode
overall: story seems great but if this was a comic i’d rather read it then watch it ~ Si from a senior anime watching fangirl who is not a hater i respect you all
superb! i love the way you write!
thanks bro. very nice written article.fb share follows.
Actually he was going to meet Roku’s Spirit. The Air Nomads were very spiritual and they were going to teach him how to connect with his past life. They can’t be alive at the same time because they are the same person.
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee apa is still alive :DDDD <3
This is definitely for all ages (7 and up at least). It’s both a kids’ cartoon and a hilarious parody on today’s society.
(BTW I’m only a tween myself)
I actually watched a few episodes after this and Amon is the bad guy just like the fire lord was. The thing that confuses me the most is WHAT ARE THE FAMILY TREES??? I must find out!!
I WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO ZUKO!!!! HIS SEXY ASS ISN’T FORGOTTEN!
sokka obviously
People please stop being so attached to the last airbender series. people die its natural and we need to get used to it. the makers made the series more mature (notice that in the last airbender the characters where 13-16) and in LOK (17-19). we viewers grow up, and so must we accept death and change, we are continuously dealing with it.
Welcome back Legend of Korra!
The graphics and lighting are pretty amazing. Not many frames but so much creativity!
THANK YOU! :)
haha as soon as i saw Lin in the warrior looking suit and the way she talks/acts im like – theres no doubt in my mind that that’s Toph’s little girl- like mother like daughter as they used to say(but overall great characters!!)…… (^x^)/ wonder who the father was?? o.O
important* ughhh
@Youdontneed2know
**Aang, Katara, spirit. I usually dont correct spelling mistakes but its too much when you spell some of the most inportant names of the original series wrong. anyway the creators said there will be flashbacks in some format.
SOKKA”S DEAD
:’(
@Zebra
May be a bit late, but it is possible for two avatars to be alive at the same time… I remember in some episode in the original series (I think book earth) in a flashback Aang mentions he was supposed to meet Roku to learn the finer arts of being an avatar, the spiritual side. Only he ran away. So, yeah, it’s possible that both Aang and Korra are alive. Although, the creators probably wanted to create a completely new setting and so decided on just one Avatar.
she’s really cute
i hate korre or kora wat ever she name is she is a bitch
(Although I do think that the people of the Water Tribe, especially ones with a healing ability, are able to live longer lives.)
5. Just enjoy the damn series and stop whining like little girls.
does korra have the same voice actor as veronica from fallout new vegas
U do realize there are still CHILDREN who watch Avatar right? they cant just make it all dark because teenagers watch this and we can handle it. they still need to keep in mind that it a cartoon people of ALL ages watch
Tenzin funny, i can’t wait till we finally see aang!!!!
i like the new series. its new start. i really like how there is a connection to Avatar The Last Airbender. i really hope there will be some flashbacks reffering to the last airbender.
Omg I thought Korra was katara. The day Korra and Aang meet I cannot wait.
I liked Aang’s part better.
soooo upsetting that they’re all dead :’(
i luv u korra!!
ang is dead in this serie, listen to the beginning
First episode falls short of hopes but further character development is on the way. If “nick” tv wouldn’t had rushed the last series off the air so fast we would be enjoying ang still. I hope that “nick” doesn’t pull the plug to early here also.
(it seems to happen with all great tv series, air for a season then yanked once it [[BEGINS]] to climb to a peak) { and knowing “nick” they will sign two seasons and korra will be sent to the theaters where a horrible writer and even worse director waste millions on a poorly executed movie }
SOOOOO. MUCH. NOSTALGIA!!!!!!!!!
I have high hopes for this. I swear, during the whole episode I was shaking in anticipation. Moving on to episode two. :D
one word. . . AWESOME!!! at first when i heard of a new show from the producers of avatar without aang i was a little pissed but this show so far shows promise. i really enjoyed it and cant wait for the next episode. the only thing in this show i dont like is the amount of technology. its only suppose to be 70yrs in the future yet, other than the fire nation who had several machines (the air ballon ships etc), the technology is TOO advanced. but i give it a 9.5 out of 10!
i wanted to punch the little brat who interrupted the story about zuko’s mom.
aang is the oldest avatar cause he was 12 before he was in the ice berg so when he got out of the ice he was 112 + the rest of his life ( lucky bastard)
as soon as katara said, “even my brother passed,” i’m thinking to myself…”so sokka and toph r dead??? hard to imagine them not being around…” :(
in the avatar state they can transform themselves into previous avatars for short periods like what happened when aang turned into roku and kick ass! this is bound to happen to korra so an adult aang will be in the series you just need to be patient!
how come people are saying that when katara is about to tell the tale of zukos mom, its a troll joke?
XD love the expression on her face at 7:46
This was a good episode! I love Korra. Very good animation too and good fights while they lasted!
When do new episodes come out?
It’s pretty obvious that Tenzin’s 2nd youngest daughter is alot like Sokka/Ty Lee
:] I’m loving this series, at first i was worried that i wouldn’t like it cause it so different from the original one but i was surprised to learn that this is an amazing new story and i cant wait for the new episodes to come!:D
Did anybody else notice that the phonograph salesmen looks just like the cabbage man from the original?
I love her eyes!
To whoever posted this up, I love you.
yeah it is ROFL
I’m the avatar you better deal with it
i wounder ….. about how long does it take for the new episodes to get posted here (sorry if my gramar is bad)
omg Katara. Shiting bricks. Can’t believe sokka is gone……what about Zuko and toph where are they???? Ahhhh I miss the original I can’t wait to see all the back stories on this show eeeeeek!
my brother told me that this aired in Canada already…
so, here I am! :DDDDD
i loved the last airbender but personally i hated how it started out i think this started out much better ps wonder if king boommy is still alive
I know! You’re totally right. This show is starting off absolutely perfect, and way passed my expectations. All it needs now is some character that reflects the attitude and personality os Sokka. He was a very important character in my opinion that gave the show a major comedic affect. Without him, or a character like him in this new show, then the show is just missing that added touch of comedy, and well rounded completeness.
korras badass and how is katra alive still?!
I think the creators have made a good foundation for what is excpected to be a great show , looking forward to new episodes :)
AANG IS THE GUY IN THE OPENIIIINNNGGGGG!!!!!!
SOOO COOOOLLLLLL!!!!!
katara sure has gotten old
was that zuko?
this was amazing!! But i dont think that it will be as good as Aatar the last Airbender. which makes me kinda sad.
I love Korra, The super Girl!
yes. they are non benders, and will use chi blocking to fight the benders. like tai li did.
I wanted zutara but i know it never happened i hope they have a good couple for this series unless korra doesnt like that. But yay they made korra XD
omg, i miss aang sooo much. i haven’t watched the first episode of the legend of korra, but i am real excited. ever since i stopped watching the first seasons on netflicks i couldn’t stop. went online, looked for reveiws, and found this! best of luck with these new series guys!
Best reaction ever at 20:03.
WHAT… is that muscly dog thing? .__.
Who else went, HOLY CRAP KATARA!!!! YES!!!!
Too bad Adventure Time is horrible.
NOOO! Sokka is dead! NOOOO! :((((
I doubt it will be any good without Sokka, but here goes nothing -_-
All in all, this seems like an awesome series to add to The Last Airbender series.
I also like the affects that they have in the legend of korra and korra reminds me a lot of Katara and how she used to be.
yes, yes i was i at least wanted them to create a bonus episode to see what happened to zukos mom
man they need a really funny character like toph or saka, this gurl needs friends, and is it just me or is this sort of super heroish like super man or batman type plot
I loved it, and omg Katara! i almost died. This series looks promising im surely going to stay tuned in. If so many of you dont like it calm down it was the first episode no biggie.
And to the Zuko’s mom thing/joke….. i was cursing out that little girl the whole timeeeeeeee ! lol
Good luck with this show, amazing writers btw.
people are right, this will never be the original.
That would make an AMAZING story…..
the mask of the guy on the equalists poster reminds me ALOT of the Anonymous masks. also this show is kick ass
I am the biggest avatar fan in the world. Saw every episode. Can’t wait for the show I’m speechless. The knew show got more industrial less ancient. Plus Korras hot.
OMG, who was that guy/girl at the end? XD
This is SOO awesome! XD
But really, who was he/she? XD
PEOPLEE!!! use your heads!!! It wouldnt make any sense if Aang was in this series because he was the avatar and the new series is about the new avatar KORRA!!! It wouldnt make sense to have Aang and Korra alive at the same time! And its quite annoying to hear people say this sucks and all! well then get over it dont watch it … and plus its only the first episode!! and if you dislike it so much go watch another show
Love it. I miss Aang but I think this new series looks fantastic and I look forward to seeing new episodes.
Long live Korra. Benders Rule.
like this episode!!
@animeairbenderfan
2 avatars can not exist as one has to die before the other is born dumbass!
The most outstanding part for me was the background music. It clearly was prominent throughout the episode. A mix of that traditional Chinese music and Western jazz. In fact, this reminds me again of the music in the Uncharted 2 game.
where’s the soka in this one? i’m not feeling it
“Did anyone else say “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!” when Katara didn’t finish saying what happened to Zuko’s mom? ”
Actually at first I held my breath than I almost split myself laughing When I realised how many hypped up fans were going to explode when they missed it out.
I have a strange feeling that it’s going to be like the almost revelation of Timmy Turner’s parents real first names in Fairly Odd Parents.
Where can I watch the SECOND episode?!
I thought i recognized those hair loopies.
I want to see the next episode! Omg i’m so exiting!
She’s stuggling to find her place in a world full of humans. This show is 100% BA!
wait, the guy in the mask… sounds strangely like Shishio from Rurouni Kenshin.
I have to say its okay but I dont think it will ever beat Avatar The Last Airbender NEVER!!
You all sounds stupid… Anime is the Katakana (Japanese) interpretation of the English word animation. -_-
Well… It was a bit fast, but I like it.
But until later a bit later…
Although, I’m really missing Aang… I wish they had a series that showed what happened to Aang and the group after the events of
Sozin’s Comet.
Anyways….to the people that loved it…I envy u!!!! hahaha wish I felt the same!
shes pretty hot
New favorite character: Dude with creepy mask!
the music kinda reminds me of buccano
Legend of korra was awesome :D
Watching this episode and halfway through I’m already getting teary-eyed. The realization that almost all of my favorite characters in the original series are dead makes me kinda depressed… but the fact that the legacy of them continuing with their children makes me kinda happy too. It’s a mixed emotion ;_;
Seriously. This may air on Nickelodeon, but I indeed hope they tried not to forget almost half their demographic are adults. If they did their research they’ll find that those mixed shows are actually the most popular.
The chiefs face after Korra left the room. Priceless.
I like the characters so far, I’m excited to see where it goes.
The one thing that annoyed me is Katara’s face apparently morphed as she aged, or her jaw was replaced with a square, but what ever, cant be picky.
I suppose it help her look old.
The sad thing is.. I miss the old gaang,
and I miss the old world of Avatar
yes I know things have to change
but I still miss them
the old world seems much more magical and this new world of 70 years later is just too similiar to ours
Korra better make it up with badass action and more serious drama/political things going on
So wait, if Korra is Aang, does that make Korra Katara’s husband/ Tenzin’s dad? Haha that’s a bit awkward! XD
Seriously?
Why are people arguing?
too far out maybe ang should have not died and saka and momo and everyone else, so maybe a new beggining of the old avitar not having to die for the new one to be born and ang would be the master avitar
she said she would pass away after her 3rd great grandchild. not 4th
The Gaang will always be missed, and the best of best, but still, I can’t help from nerding all over when I watch this! xD
i will admit that i really liked the main characters in the first series, but this one is very promising. i laughed my butt of when the kid was gnawing on his dad’s head lol. i can’t wait for more episodes, but there’s also some questions i want answered >.<
wait a sec, where the hell is Mako???? and what about Bolin!!! we need hot guys!
this is amazing! im sure the new generation of avatar will be as awesome as the previous one.
Buildup of Characterization and plot which you CANNOT get from watching the very first episode…
i like the troll joke about zuko’s mom
So far good, it’s funny because the best parts of the last series was during the ba sing se episodes in season 2. So i see alot of potential in this. Hope it’s more mature and darker, because it seems like the creators know their fans aren’t exactly 9 year olds :P
Also this is a new series….not season 4….enough with holding on to the past. I liked it too but seriously people are complaining about the dumbest things.
In the opening credits, when Tenzin narrates: “Earth, Fire, Air, Water” those are the past Avatars, right? that means the one bending air is an older Aang from the original series. I guess.
Well it’s alright for a first episode, but this will never beat the original
hmmm Im not sure i like it right now but im going to give it a try. but when i saw the metaL bending i was like huh? isnt tauf the best earth bender in the world only suppose to know how to metal bend only was kinda mad when i seen it but got over it..but i hope its like the other avatar when they travel and go on adventures but i can tell its not going to be like that at all..but im going to give it a shot and watch a little more. hopes there romance in this to make it better.
Wait a second… Is it just me or does Korra’s voice actor sound similar to Sheena’s from Tales of Symphonia? X3 I am loving this so far though. :3
:3 I hope yall keep it updated!
whean dose next ep come out
Sokka is death! didn’t anybody hear Katara saying it in the north pole to Korra just before she runned away ??
does republic city remind anyone else of the 1930s?
GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE! :D
Alright. Katara looks just like her grandmother and Korra is hot and reminds me of when Katara was young. Nicely done, producers.
i know who the man in the mask is if i know anime right i would say its admiral Zhao from book 1 season finale we thought he died well just a guess when he reveals himself early on n the show we will see
I love how that little girl is blowing off questions that millons of fans wanted to know.
@zebra
It is possible that korra needs aangs help. She can meditate and talk to aang that way just like aang talked to roku.
What? That’d make no sense if the guy with the mask was the son of Aang or Sokka! NO SENSE.
idiots ang will be in this as a spirit why dont you think a little bit more
For all those saying Ang can’t be in this series, you are mistaken.
OMG Ive been waiting for this for ever woot continueation FTW
So, doing the math, Aang was 12 during the original series. Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the end of the original series, and Korra is 17.
70-17=53
53+12=65
Aang only lived to be 65!?!? I feel that being too short of a life, especially for an Avatar, and the 100 years he was frozen hardly count because he was preserved.
Why does Steven Jay Blum always play the bad guy? >.< (Ok, usually…although he was badass as Darcia from Wolf's Rain)
This is gonna be so good!! :D
…I just hope they introduce a character like Iroh, he was so awesome.
FYI, Anime is defined as animation from Japan. Avatar is not anime, Spongebob is not anime. Pokémon is anime, Dragonball Z is anime. Totally Spies is not anime. Naruto is anime. See where I’m going with this?
If you have to comment, at least do your research.
i hate buffering-.-’
Actually, I think Aang WILL be in it – in the same capacity as Roku in the original series, advising Korra when she needs help.
You know, Aunt Wu predicted that Katara would pass after her THIRD GREAT grandchild was born, so Aunt Wu may not be wrong yet.
wait was appa a girl or a boy if he is a boy?????
How did this get leaked/released early?!
That was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOT!!!!!
This is leaked its not supposed to be on nick for another 2 weeks so its gonna be awhile before episode 2 because this didn’t even air on TV yet.
OMGGGGG, SOMEONE SHOULD UPLOAD THE NEXT ONE!!! I GOTTA WATCH IT !!
Notice in the intro, the earthbender looks like Avatar kyoshi who was an air bender not an earth bender
Not bad at all, I hope they show more episodes.
So… judging by the date of the first comment, the episodes are being released on Saturdays? I’m curious to see when the next episode is so I can post to my readers when it will be aired.
A saw your comment, ZEBRA, and thought maybe not alive but do the same thing Aang and Roku did for Korra and Aang.
OMG ive been waiting for this forever! ^_^
I hope Korra uses Aang as a spiritual guide like Aang did for Roku in the first show.
WHY, WHY SOKA DIE?!! WHYYYYYYYYY
It was the loopy things that made me realize it was katara…
the thing i hate about these forums is people dissing on other peoples ideas and thoughts, we may not like your ideas ,you may not like ours.
great start btw
My only question… how did Appa have kids?
oh geez i swear if that happens, i will kill.
that was the only thing that pissed me off about the finale…
I know who is else from Season 1 of the Avatar besides KATARA.
LE MOON SPIRIT!
The series dosnt start till April 12th i believe.. this episode was leaked ^_^
Oh, wow! I just noticed that this came out! I am so excited!
Did Aang and Katara have that air bender as a baby?
Did Toph and Souka have that earth bender as a baby?
Wish they intertwined the new series and old one.
Out with the old and in with the new as they say. =’(
Bye Bye Team Boomeraang
the steampunk in this…IT’S OVER 9000!!!!
Aang pedophile lvl:100
Aang was a pedophile before it was cool
i should bitch slap all of you, dont dare to say that this has faults and even if it does why should anyone care im just thrilled they have made another series
Then how is Katara alive…
IS IT REALLY THAT BAD! OH NO…………IT’S DIRECTED BY THE PERSON THAT DID THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!! OoO!
so you were expecting a fourth season and not another series.
To al the people so far that commented on any possible way , that Ang should be in this serie to ; PLeas think just a little bit more , how the hell can Ang (an avatar) and Korra (an avatar to) be alive at the same time.
70 Years in the future not 100 DUMBASS
If you wanna get technical anime = animation so…
Well you have to realize that this story would be impossible if Aang were alive.
When will the second episode be released?
This was very epic.
I wonder if Zuko’s mom will be a running trolling joke in Korra.
Street Vendor: Hey, I think I heard that Zuko’s mom- *run over by Satomobile*
Bolin: I know what happened to Zuko’s mom; she- *kidnapped by Equalists*
Mako: Oh yeah, I heard that. She- *dies in horrible scarf accident*
That sucks, all but one of the Gaang is dead. Hope there isn’t a bunch of romance bs for this show or it will be a rare watch for me.
Let go of you expectations and watch with an open mind.
not that big a deal.

Yea, this sucks.
Amazing animation as well as the choreography in the fight scenes. Yes, I know many people are disappointed that there were not that much mention of the back story, but remember these two things:
1) This is only the first episode.
I just think it is going to take a little bit of getting used to, with all new characters, a new plot, and worst of all… the absence of Sokka’s complaining and sarcasm.
korra should learn how to bend lighting mealt and blood adn she need to learn the avatar state
Toph is still alive. She teaches metal bending.
Um… You can’t have a new avatar unless the last one dies…
i think the guy in the mask is Jet but hwo knows its just my opinion
..- i know how u feel HeartAnimeManga..
This is gonna be a great show!
Wait???? I have to wait a month to see more? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AEFGBSGJYJDVJUFDHGVAGGGRDHBFESBFFBFS
@ HeartAnimeManga
Yea its a bummer that everyone is dead, but at the very least Aang HAD to die for this series to even be a thing.
Everyone, still watch the official premiere so that the show gets good ratings and the creators of the show are motivated to do even better.
There’s actually a comic detailing that story (look it up on DarkHorse). 2nd issue is coming out in May.
zuko has a child witch is a girl also but we have not seen them yet and ang will be koras spirit guide like how ang had one also before ang died he was flying and found a temple filled with flying bisons
Once I saw the necklace, hair loopies, and water tribe robes on the old lady, I knew it was Katara.
How is Katara alive?! LOLOL. Wasn’t she like the second eldest of the group?! XD Good god,HAHA. They must have some healthy ass bodies!! ahahahha
It’s pretty strange to see a New York including Central Park concept version in this Kora/Avatar episode.
Btw i really love Kora’s personality more than van Aange she is more funny and cocky and a smartass in the same time.
I’m pretty sure that was Zuko next to Katara during the training so not all are dead!
So relying on that is unwise
dat statue of toph :o
sweet series, brings back the good old days of the original avatar, and even though this is new, it still has the spark that kept me so interested in the original avatar :D
They have just removed all the youtube videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My reaction to hearing about Zuko’s mom: O.O FINALLY!!!!!!!
My reaction to being interrupted: Y n Y Mom blocked… again
Wow fantastic! Its off to a good start! can’t wait for the rest!! But I do hope that in this new series they show backflashes of what happen to all of the old characters from the Avatar the Last Airbender. I really want to know how Aang died, what happen to Momo and Appa, what happen to Zuko, Mai, Ty Lee, Sokka, Toph, Uncle Iroh, King Ozai, Azula and what happened to Zuko’s MOM!!!!!!!!!
Isn’t Katara still alive you freaking dildo,, Toph was way younger than her so sthu with the name calling!! It’s only the first episode,, :\
Guys, look at the title of the show. It is “The Legend of KORRA.” The show is about KORRA, no longer about aang. Dont expect them to touch base on what happened in the old show. This show is about a new legacy. If you want to conclude Aangs legacy, read “The Promise”
A girl as a main character just kind of ruins it for me…
Yeah I would totally wanna see Zuko! He’d be a cute lil old guy along with all the others.
I think that I will love it no matter how dead everyone is.
its only the 1st episode -_- stop complaining
if he is azulas son, wouldnt he be a firebender?
Fear of change fail. Generations and people die, move on.
uhm. I don’t really know what to say.. but I’m a little disapointed..
I mean seriously ? Everyone died besides Katara ?
It was just too fast..idk. I would like to see AaNG&Co. when they were adults..
cars, bridges.. ? Ahh I really dont know.. I loved
how in the 1 series they did not even had guns or something..
Chillax and quit being so damn critical!
omg ikr. i wanna know who Toph married, SO MANY QUESTIONS THAT I WANT ANSWERED….
WHO WAS TOPHS BABY DADDY? need to know stuff guys!
Did anyone else say “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!” when Katara didn’t finish saying what happened to Zuko’s mom? LOL
Love this, must….watch…..more….Korra!!!
What happened to Zuko’s mom?
ya i saw it will come in nick and was waiting for it finally it came
This coming from a Hetalia fan.
omg who was toph’s father did sokka have kids. what ever happend to everybody I WANNA KNOW I WANNA KNOW EVERYTHING
I dont no what people are talking about
i love it the voice acting wasnt bad it was pretty good almost as good as the first avatar and the visual are fanstaic and the soundtrack WOW i love the mordern theme and that Korra is a bad ass chick cant wait for MOAAAAAA
also we got trolled at 5:26 to 5.49 ahahha i wnat to NOO what happened so much
omg im nerding all over the floor hahahah
omg who leaked the episode? it wasn’t supposed to come out for another month?!?!?
who ever leaked it is amazing!!!
I don’t get why you’re all analyzing the show and being picky..just relax and enjoy the show!
Dude this is 100 years in the future dumb ass, toph died so how is she still going to be there -.- idiot
holy…crap. WOW. this is amazing. the music..the feel..the characters…it’s unbelievable. the animation is even crisper and cleaner than the first one…more fluid too. the art is astounding…oh man…i gotta have more!! and i am LOVING the more serious and older? atmosphere of the series. definitely awesome.
Katara is old :O
You guys know that this isnt anime its from america
So many people complaining about certain characters from the previous series not existing 70 years later, and doing so ignorantly enough to ignore how incredible everything else was. I can’t possibly think of anything the creators of the series could have done better. Without trying to sound like a fanboy, this was a perfect start for a series I look forward to watching more of. Anybody who refuses to watch it because it lacks a character you enjoyed is an idiot.
KATARA’S ALIVE :DD I Hope Toph Is Still Alive To :\
akiyukix I will admit that I might be in some denial, but I never assume about an anime or cartoon before watching it.
David Faustino as the voice of Mako!
for those of you that are kids or what have you David Faustino played Bud on Married With Children a rather funny series that had 13 seasons and ran for 10 years
This made me VERY excited to see the rest of the season :D
I CANNOT WAIT!!
Is it me or like they didn’t really touch base on what happend to zuko after he became fire lord.?!?!@@@@
Yay!!! Its so amazing! The background art and soundtrack!! OMG Amazing, love the voice acting too so far!
i Just hope there will be another hot guy like Zuko!! Please oh please oh please!!! Cant wait for more awesomenessss!!!
The voice acting is horrible.
Aang And Katara Have Three Sons, Tenzin Is The Oldest One. And The Two Main Antogonist Are A Fire Bender And Earth Bender Who Are Brothers.
man i cried when i saw that Aang died.
this was an amazing episode! can people please STOP fighting bout whether this is gonna be better than the last airbender! i cried while watching the first episode because almost everyone is dead and Katara is coming onto her final years (surprised that Toph died before her, considering she was younger, although something may of happen to her). i hope they explain what happen to Zuko’s mother, i looove the little girl who was smart like that and asked that question bout her! toph’s daughter is a jerk and aang and katara’s son and grandchildren are awesome as well. i hope we get to see more of the children of the group..
The only show that will be able to compete with this is “Adventure Time” from Cartoon Network.
Hell, that’s probably why CN green lighted a next season for that show. seems like Cartoons are slowly starting to regain some dignity.
This will be a great series.
THIS IS AWESOME!!!! but there’s a few things that I don’t get about the series. How did Apa have offspring? Also, how have the people not learned their lesson and not made teaching the Avatar a #1 priority? It seems that after going 100 years of not having an Avatar and seeing the problems that it causes, they would’ve IMMEDIATELY trained Korra.
which day of the week will Avatar Legend of Korra air
what day of the week will each episode air
Adam Screw you this episode was freakin awesome it wasn’t disappointing
When Lin Beifong did that little “I’m watching you” gester with her pinky and forefinger, I swear, I could imagine Toph doing the same thing XD
I’m totally gonna watch this, but some things.
Yet, again, I’m so totally gonna watch this!! :D
When does it air on TV?!?!?!
A satisfactory beginning…..
OMG yus!! I know i am so dang happy this time a women gonna beat yall butt’s!! WOOOT!!!
i think i have a idea of who the mask man is maybe its azula’s son
Somehow, I was disappointed. Korra gets on my nerves and I know this is just the first episode, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how she develops.
I approve.
what i take away from this is, we will never know what happen with zuko’s mother :(
I have to say I’m bit surprise by the early apperance of Korra, not that I’m complaining.
I’m eager to hear more of what happened to the Characters between the end of of the Last Airbender to this point in time and to see if we meet any other children from the old gang.
man im going to miss soka and i hope they say what happened to zuko’s mom

YESSSS!
HOLY CRAP IT”S ONLY THE 18TH! WOW THIS IS EPIC!
that makes absolutely no sense, you idiot.
FINALLY!! Avater the last airbender has countinued! AND WITH A GIRL WHO CAN KICK A%* >:D
the visuals were beautiful!!! and the music was perfect, the show is more mature which is nice since it shows that the creators have take their audience in consideration.
This was….quite dissapointing.
I say yes
Well I love AVATAR so watching this was a MUST
Finally a show where the girl can kick ass and she aint crying or being kidnapped every second episode XD
The animation was good and there was an element of comedy
also glad we wont have to watch her learn the other elements
the voices could be better but so glad DH got this episode up!!
watched avatar the last aoirbender then when to wiki to see what happend to zukos mother case the show never said and found out this was to air spring of this year i am a anime fanatic at the time i posted this comment ther was 20 comments sum ppl gripping about it well missy this searis is based in the early years of the big citys as i say sum 1 say the 1920s and that looks about right 1910 to 1920′s big citys and it looks like rebulic city is 1920s ney york that is all.
ps: if u dont like go fuck ur self its a great start for a nicalodioan show that is compoerd to most nick shows
pss: i thant the makers of the anime very much for doing the new searys i thank nickalodian for granting thins 16 or 18 episodes to make 2 seassions with i think thers doing an amazing jod and plz for the love of god dont let then fuck upo the real life movie like they did the 1st 1.
psss:i rate this ep compaierd to awsome animays iv seen over the years a 10 of 10
voice actors so far 9 of 10
back ground details 20 of 10
Also my favorite quote is definitely:
“I’M THE AVATAR! YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT!”
AhhhH!!
Little Korra is adorable! <3
@awesomenessHetalias
In direct defiance, I vote this episode 8.5/10
This show is gone be off the chain.
opening benders taft, zuko, aang, katara, and i bet that mask man is saka’s son because his kid is the only one that didnt show
6/10
goods: comedy and action balanced
good cliffhanger
animation is almost as good as a normal anime
bads: soundtrack sucks(really that jazzy chase music is so unfitting)
jokes are cliche
voice acting not impressive enough its really not up to MY expectations
not emotional i had the same face the whole episode
overall: story seems great but if this was a comic i’d rather read it then watch it
