First of all, will you get a grip? Japanese Voice Actors put more emotion into their voice acting but half the time you can’t understand what they’re saying, if you think a dub sucks so bad then why don’t you try dubbing it? I honsetly think Naruto’s voice is perfect for him? Like what do you expect him to sound like? Imagine him with a REALLY deep voice, he’d start sounding like the hulk, stop playing pretend critic and deal with it, if you have a complaint then call Viz Media or notify them about Naruto’s voice actor, if they can change Ikkaku from Bleach’s english voice actor in the middle of the show so can Naruto

I always hated the english dubs; they never seem to manage to find voice actors that do the characters justice. Usually when watching an english dub I feel that all the lines that were previously moving and heartfelt in the original Japanese become cliched and… well… lame sounding. Japanese voice actors always seem to get it spot on, whilst american voice actors usually fail at attempting to imitate the original brilliance. I say usually, however. There are exeptions of course.
Anyway, this is how I used to feel (still do a lot of the time, actually) when watching american english dubbed animes, but upon attempting to watch this now – when I am much older – I find that I can tolerate everyones English dub voice actors exept Naruto’s. His eng voice actor just sounds ridiculous. She makes him sound paradoxically imature, but kind of like an old man at the same time. *sigh* When will they learn to search thoroughly for talented voice actors?

i dont mean to intreuppt but a recent post said naruto and them arent adults yet techincly they are look back at how they matured naruto was skirmish and small and stuff now look at him so there adults and before they werent kids except when they was in the academy and genin afther that there teens and adults hahahah anyway im a fan of the old cartoon network episodes because they gave me a kick . like when neji and naruto and them went to save saskue i allmost burst thinking neji and shikamauru died. other then that i would say take this show of disney and put it on funamiation or one of those anmie shows there made for it and diseny is so not made for any anime
Well, actually naruto graduated to become a genin at maybe around 10 – 12, and the original probably ends with him being maybe 13 – 14, so hes technicly in his teen years still because he went out to train only for 2.5 years, and lol i kno this is an old post, but still :D
well actually in the naruto series naruto was actually 12 and when he came back from training he ended up 15 so get your facts straight.

Which is why i ain’t watching it on XD. the edits are downright stupid.and renaming the sexy justu was the last straw. i expected better from viz but to stoop to the level of 4kids just to attract a young audience is too much. CN’s version of the original naruto was 10 times better than this crap,and it didn’t went to 4kids edits to do it.
They should have sent it to CN or to it’s AS block.

first of all the edits on XD aren’t that bad you people are just too ignorant to realize it. second it didn’t go to CN or Adult swim because they didn’t want them because they’re dumb and got rid of half of there anime to focus on CN real which i think was a mistake so don’t be blaming this on viz be happy that you get naruto at all.

The english voice actors are better in every way .Their voices are more expressive ,have more variety instead of sounding like they are all related to each other, And they suit the characters apperances much more naturally. although the show does suffer from the censorship. funny how asians seem to like the subbed ones ,as i would assume they could understand it without them. but the main problem with subbed is you have to be a pretty good reader to keep up with some fast talking/action segments.
Are you kidding me? I’ve heard better voice acting in a Pokemon episode! If the japanese voices are “related”, then these voices are the SAME ACTOR. Only unlike shows that do it on purpose, like South Park, it’s not funny.
Over half the voices sound like the same 20-something drama school dropout, being oh-so-careful to enunciate so all the stupid little children watching will be able to understand big words.
Gimme a break…what a disappointment. The original japanese subs made me tremble when Akatsuki came to capture Gaara. These just make me cringe.

The English Dubs never had swearing. All 200+ episodes of the original Naruto never had any swearing either. Kind of sucked cause it took away so much of the japanese version. Got to love America and our censoring.
Wrong; The Naruto Dubs Aired on Television never had Cursing/Swearing; On the Other Hands, The Original Uncut DVD’s of the Dubs had Cursing. :)

Ok, this is crap. As much as I love naruto, Disney should not be the channel that it is on. Since they have decided to make edits for Disney XD, naruto has being shamed. For all of you guys who have a problem watching this, certain sites have a more teen-friendly dub. They swear unlike in this walking-piece-of-trash. It’s all great for the kiddies, but when it comes down to it, how are they going to explain certain twists in the main plot which are bloody and just plain evil. Hell, on disney the worst a villian can do is ruins someone nails. It’s time for Viz to grow-up and see the light. Also while I’m voicing my opinions, I think that Viz should take this as a chance to make their own anime channel. Solely for anime. Lighter anime in the early day. Towards the evening/night they play blooder, more mature anime. The expenses for creating this channel( very expensive) will be covered by other animes being added on.This will cut out the idiotic deals it makes with the Funimation channel and the like. Bring Cartoon Network down from it’s false throne since it stopped doing it job along time ago. It will be the host of it’s obnoxious anime-inspired cartoons while Viznet(what I am calling it) will rise above is the primary anime source on the televison. Muahahaha. Seriously.*Rant over*

The difference is they know that Teenagers and Adults can watch this but they feel children can’t.

actually naruto, shippuden in particular is branded as shounen with is usually aimed at 13-17 year old boys. Later parts of japanese naruto get very violent with lots of blood and swearing. They will probably edit all that out for the english dub though.
Oh don’t worry. It was aimed towards kids just the older crown of children, teens. Now it’s a bit more mature so I do find it odd to be with Disney EXCEPT recently the products for kids are becoming less strict and more realistict as it helps kids see the side of the world instead of people lying to them. If they can do it without cutting things unecessarily (not including elements that can be cut for time) then all should be fine.
Difference is, kids will be influenced by this. Not the smart ones, the psycho ones. Their behavior’s based on it. In Japan, same thing but their also raised much more strict and harshly and their sexuality is much more… “casual” so it’s less important.
which is why I’ll take the uncut DVD versions any day of the week. Disney XD has really edited the crap out of this series. It aint 4kids bad but bad nevertheless.Though i only watch english dubs,this hack job is too much to bear. Better off to get the UNCUT dub versions or pray to god that viewers boycott the broadcast version in such a manner ( and they will when the later epsiodes shows ) than XD will have no choice to give a permanent hiatus and viz will have to bring it back to CN or had it over to it’s Adult Swim block cause they have less FCC restrictions.

disney did nothing to naruto its just that the makers of naruto did not want to get on Cartoon Network after what they did to the last naruto there for they wanted to get some more out of it. Cartoon network stole from them and then payed less then what it was worth, so insteed of going with cartoon network they went to the family tv.

Huh… sadly, the dubbed version doesn’t quite live up to the subtitle version. It’s still good, but it lacks the drama that makes you want to explode into pieces when you’re watching it. Ah well. I’ll still be watching it anyway.

I agree.. except over the things that are cut that are actually awesome, not the whole stabbing Naruto thing or the blood or cussing. Because honestly they had an overdramatic sense of blood in the artwork and cussing isn’t really a necessity it’s just a typical “grown up” think to look cool, tough, badass, in power (just like most actual adults). Adults can be smart from the level they’ve reached but most of them seem to lose their senses and let adulthood go to their heads. These characters aren’t even adults anyways. And the need to curse, the fact that it’s abscense disturbs is a sign if immaturity. Please. If you’ve seen the subbed version you have no reason to see the dubbed (especially if you don’t like dubbed versions) S’long as I got the main idea and action I’m good.

I don’t know about you but Naruto seems to have the most interesting and exciting change of personality of them all. I mean you get annoyed by the “never give up” thing BUT he has will power. Now he’s cool looking, calm, strong, smart and still never give up? Pretty cool. And Gaara? Same diff. It’d be cool to see those two specifically team up on a mission.
