I’ve watch all three versions, Japanese, Animax dub and the official dub, and I think that the official dub is the best. All the voice actors are really awesome.
Okay in my opinion this dub is great and people should just leave it at that.I know everyone has a right to their opinion, but Dubs aren’t meant to sound like the japanese version otherwise they would have left it in japanese. Compared to the Animax version I think the voices are a lot better and fit the characters nice enough for people to suck it up and get used to them.–Sorry if I sound like im trollin’

You’re totally right, People need to stop comparing this to the subbed version, they shouldn’t be compared as they are voiced by completely DIFFERENT PEOPLE. You can’t expect people’s voices to be the same when the variables are language and the person altogether right? ^^

well anywayy the voices are REALLY weird and srs I’m sorry but Natsu’s voice isn’t nearly as loud or expressive as the japanese counterpart also lucy needs to sound more I duunno… womanly and well happy sounds like a girl hmmm but still cute although I can’t imagine that voice being cynical AT ALL.
PS: I LOVE Natu’s voice regardless and I’m sure that his voice actor is doing his best
But still, and Gray’s voice, so weird, Makarov’s hmmm still weird but kinda suits him, Cana’s voice is like total perfection and Mirajanes voice need to be more… Mirajaney like the subs, but I’m probably biased sinced I’ve watched all the subs and their voices are what I’m used to.

hmm on another note the anime seems to have like huge chunks missing and is going waaaay too fast for me, it seems to have lost some of it’s messages and points kinda but yea that’s also cause I have watched subs and read the manga

Wow this is really different, it’s hard to get used to it. Mirajane is really bad imo and Lucy is wrong, just plain wrong. Gray is okay I guess, maybe a little low? Natsu is really too different from the original VA but I don’t dislike him though Happy is wrong -_-” I could get used to Natsu’s voice but I don’t see this english version talking all serious before beating his enemy though… Makarov is good enough and Jellal is.. not that okay :P
ZOMG! Lucy’s voice is the same vioce as lunar from my bride is a mermaid and from ghost hunters, and that dude with the pink hair and does fire magic, he’s nagasumi ( however you spell it) and Naru ( from the same shows i said).

Hmmm,.. I must say that I do like most of the voice actors so far. Though Natsu Should be ALOT louder than he is. Grey’s voice is interesting… I think it fits him even though it was a turn off at first but then it had the same felling with his Japanese voice *shrugs*. Happy voice is just plain cute, but his Japanese voice actor does a better job or is it just my fanboyness shining. Everyone else voices sound perfectly fine. Though if they ruin Erza’s voice I’ll be extremely pissed… Extremely. Erza has to be a one of my favorites characters in this anime.
I think you people needs to suck it up. I think they did a good job on it so get used to these English Dub least they license it. If its wasn’t for funimation, Fairy Tail wouldn’t been in English Dub in they year 2013 or longer. Soooooooo be greatful.

from what i see on funimation’s channel they do it like this, 2 japanese subbed episodes and 1 english episode on friday,thus why i call the day fairy tail friday because we also get the newer eps in subs later on too.

Natsu & Gray & Mira & Cana’s voices are so… UGH. The voices don’t fit them at ALL. Especially Natsu’s & Gray’s!
And they changed everything they said! “Alright, now I’ve got some fire in my belly!” WHAT THE HELL? IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE “I’M ALL REVVED UP NOW!” I mean, I know they change some things when they translate it to english, but that’s like Natsu’s catchphrase when he’s fighting! Changing it is just so wrong ><
I'm not one to watch subs much because personally I feel more comfortable with the dubs since I can acutally understand what they say, but in this case the subs are way, WAY better.

i have to agree with you on natsu’s catchphrase and im iffy on natsu’s and grays vocies. however i do like the vocie they got for cana. im not writing this off until ive heard erza’s voice, though so far the subbed is way better.

It’s a tolerable dub, Elfman’s fit, Gray’s V.A sounds like an adult, bring the pitch down man.

I dont like narutos voice now. It was fine when he was a child, I havent liked his voice in shippuden at all. Either way still probably my favorite show. This show is pretty good too im glad i didnt start watching the subs first.

in that case… she’ll be perfect!!! i kno only a few of funimation’s VAs by heart, but Colleen Clinkinbeard is 1 of my favs, and she’s great at voicing serious characters, so i think she’ll be great. i wish others could think a little more optimisticly about the dubs as well…
Why is everybody complaining about Natsu’s voice!? His english voice isn’t that bad! I think Todd Haberkorn did a great job as Natsu! I don’t understand why people think that Vic Mignogna would be a good match for Natsu!? I don’t think it’ll match at all! Don’t get me wrong I think Vic is a great voice actor but, I just can’t imagine him as Natsu! I also think that Newton Pittman did an awesome job as Gray! The rest of the cast sounds awesome including Lucy & Happy! I can’t wait to hear Erza’s voice! I can’t wait for the next episode, bye!

..sooo.. i have to say that this episode really made me laugh:)..im really starting to like Fairy Tail.
You may be happy to know that Fairy Tail gets more awesome as the series goes along, so if you’re happy now, just wait until a couple dozen episodes have gone by, the episodes go faster, and the story goes up a few levels from slowish to fast.
Just a shame this series isn’t on TV, it’d likely be as popular to newer anime fans as Naruto is.

Ok most of the voices I’m just fine with but Natsu’s, Gray’s and Markorov’s voice’s I don’t think they matched right. It’s just that they don’t seem to match their persona’s like I was hoping they would if you know what I mean. Natsu’s just doesn’t seem to have the intensity that it should have. I mean he sounds like a secondary characters voice. Grey’s voice is just too deep plain and simple. I mean damn, I heard him and thought he was in his upper 20′s to mid 30′s. Markorov’s on the other hand is the opposite. I feel like it should be a slightly deeper but definitely wiser sounding. How he is right now he sounds like some random old guy they might talk to on on of their journeys or maybe an older character that’s only in a few episodes. I think they gave him a voice like that because he’s small but come on the japanese actor’s voice sound’s more worldly then his.
