Dubs is rubbish. Literally. They all sound so queer. The subs voices are literally FANTASTIC. Their voices actually sound like their characters. And this is coming from a girl who only ever watches dubs, infact Fairy Tail is the only anime I watch in subs, it’s too fantastic.

Having plue in it is like a author putting a character with the same name same physical and emotional states. The person who made this anime also made rave master and plue is his signiture character to show he/she made it.

you gotta like how ppl complain over the inevitable, it’s funny how they says animax or whatever dub is stupid, weak and retarded and how funimation dubs the show and then they say it’s worse wtf guys you dont like it go to subs alright. It’s just what more do you want. there’s going to be animes with weak dubbings and we have to except the fact there are no perfect dubbing but to just get used to them.
I see why your getting annoyed but you gotta understand that to some pple the voice acting is just as important as the show. I always thought fairy tale had promise but personally the original actors made it sound like a cartoon an infant would watch lol. now with the new actors im sure it will get alot more fan base an more pple will buy it now. better chance it wont get canceled.

Yeah, it’s Todd Haberkorn. He does a bunch of voice acting. Like Death the Kid, Allen Walker, and Ling Yao. Personally, he’s one of my favorites.

Animax dub is fan dub while Funimation is pro dub
Animax was a dubbing company that did their own unofficial version of Fairy Tail english dub up through the first 31 episodes or so. Funimation is the company licensed to do the official english dub of the Fairy Tail series.
Animax is a dubbing company in Singapore. they dub anime into english primarily for Asia, and will make your ears bleed nearly all the time. i don’t think they even try. Funimation is a dubbing and distribution company in Texas, and one of several in the US. they are the ones who dubbed this show.
..iv been meaning to watch Fairy Tail..it was like on my list of animes to watch next..soo when i saw that it was on here..i was like i guess i can start watching it now..and let me just say..for a first episode..it was pretty good:)..

Uhhh no. If you’ve seen more than 3 anime shows dubbed you’l see that Vic Mignogna is in virtually everything anime related these days, its nice to see him NOT as a main character.

Sometimes, but its not the teachers…usually. Besides, misspellings happen all the time and we all sometimes forget to put things in the right tense like elk and elks.

Your lucky when it first came out in dub it had 5 episodes done by funimation but ALL THE VOICES SOUNDED LIKE GUYS WITH DEEP VOICES EVEN LUCY AND EREZA this is better but its endding and more were change all new to the series look forward to it its great!!!!!!!
i think you are talking about the animax dub. funimation had nothing to do with it since it is a company in Singapore that produced that dub

I don’t see whats to complain about…obviously if you are used to the subbed then the dubbed won’t sound right but that doesn’t mean you have to sit there and bash funimation and the voice actors :/
they’re doing their best, you can’t expect them to match the japanese voices.
I honestly I like the dubbed version of Fairy Tail and MOST animes mostly because its easier to follow without having to READ what they’re saying which can sometimes take you away from the action or they’re speaking to fast and you miss vital points. And if you don’t like it, not like you can’t click the back button.
i agree with you that the actors wont be as good as the japanese ones but i still think they could have gotten someone better 4 natsu and happy
The voices are so much better then the other dub. All the voices on that were so annoying and did not fit. I’m quite happy about this^^
i’m a huge fan of watching anime in its original sub form so whenever I start to watch its dub counterpart I always say to myself:
‘it’s useless to be comparing dub with the subs on same lvl.
why not just enjoy how the cast is formed? and focus on the important
things to look for when judging a dub?? is ther voice acting up
to par? emotions being put forth? accuracy of it’s lines to the original?’
well for the FUNIMATION Fairy Tail dub I just watched, I would give it 8.5 overall.
I can feel like every voices was done emotionally well. Happy here was to mimic the japanese’s voice, which is more high pitch like…
since that’s reasonable as Happy is just a kid, so imagine how a 6-year-old boy would sound like and Happy’s doing his job just fine.
as for Natsu, he was alright. :) I especaillly like the last scene
where he told Lucy to come to the guild with him. that sound as great as the original when he chuckled with the smile.
I can still hear pitches of other characters I know from him like Hikaru from Ouran… i just need a bit of adjusting that’s all.
as for Lucy…well she DOES sound even more annoying in the dub (sorry! I had to say it, i still like the Lucy in the original tho) and could’ve sound less bratty…the original wasn’t as harsh sounding as hers. like when Happy said ‘Aye’. Original was ‘Aye ja nai!’ meaning ‘Don’t say Aye!’ but in the dub, she said ‘Shut up, you cat’ now that was mean to Happy!! lol xD
and I admit I’m used to the japanese cast since I’ve already on the latest 99th episode. xD
if i were to complain about something, well…it would be

anyways, I already pre-ordered the dub early, so I’ll stick with it for now… also, I recommended this Dub of Fairy TAil to anyone who enjoys shonen with action and comedy and bit romance. ^_^

wow, the voice actors really suck. they just killed an amazing show. none of the voices went with the characters. and they even pronounced some of the names of things like fiore. i like natsu’s voice actor, he did good in d grey man but he shouldnt be in this. i’ll just stick to the subbed version its 100s of times better.

Wow….Well It’s not that bad. I’m not really a weeabo but I like the subbed one better but it’s probably bias because I watched it subbed first. Natsu’s voice is alright and fits him a little bit but of course I like the subbed Natsu better. I think Happy’s voice is alright too and similar to the sub. Lucy on the other hand….-_- She sounds as if she could of been dubbed by any girl off the street. I’ve heard classmates with voices similar to hers. It’s kind of annoying and I think they should of used Nami’s voice from One PIece to voice her. Can’t wait to see Grey’s and Erza’s voice.
Agreed, Lucy Christian is better than C. Leigh. Heck I think she even tried to mimic her voice. Its just too much like natsuki from Sgt Frog.

Natsu isn’t bad. Lucy is annoying but I guess it’s okay for English. And Happy is just horrible. It’s alright though. I guess people that never watched the Jap ones won’t notice how odd it is. But it surely is different in every way, English language isn’t really meant to be overly dramatic sounding like that haha I don’t know how else to explain it.
I found lucy’s voice a lot less annoying than the japanese VA. as bad as the animax dub was, i actually liked their version of natsu better than the guy who plays ling in fma.
don’t sleep on fairy tail, it never takes itself too seriously and it reminds me of the first harry potter books in terms of the joys of magic
Wont be watching these as I’m on the 100th ep of the Japanese subs, and I love them so much I dont want to be watching the English alongside, but I’ll keep checking the characters in English as the appear so I know what they’re like for the DVD when its out :)

As English obviously isn’t your main language, I suggest watching Fairy Tail in subs to pick up the basic grammatical structure of the English language.
Funimation should have got Eirc Vale voice actor of Future Trunks
They did get him for this show. He’s gonna be the voice of Loke.
For the people complaining, it does get better. Though if you don’t like action series or shounen, then you should probably stop watching this. If you like One Piece or more the One Piece formula, a group fighting together facing stronger enemies each arc and getting stronger themselves, then keep watching. Also you will be watching for a while, 99 episodes have already been released.
Bout time the official dubbed version got released, this’ll be exciting.

I watched the subbed and dubbed, both are terrible in my opinion. There’s no difference. I just don’t like this series… Rave Master in my opinion was way better.
At least it knew how to be a little subtle, so, I’d say that Rave Master is like a guilty pleasure. Whereas this is… bleh.
i’ve watched the english dub elsewhere but its a fandub i believe and i find it better than the voices in this dubbing.

To those of u that are watching Fairy Tail for the first time dont sleep on this anime. Its really good.. Try not to hold everything in the same leauge as Naruto, Bleach, FMA Brotherhood or any of the other great ones.. This one has great potential

The dub that you are talking about is done by animax. They are dubbing it legally but because they are in asia they can get away with it like the people who ripped off mario galaxy. So Funimation is dubbing it legally and with worse voice actors :P
That’s a singapore dub. They also watch it in English. I believe the dubbers are called Animex Asia.
Actually Animax uses Odex too. Odex for example dubbed the USA version of the Karin anime. Thing is, they’re likely hiring random people off the streets for no real experience in dubbing, and they use the same voices for multiple characters, even if they’re main ones, so for example someone could voice say 3 – 4 characters in a series with lots of characters, because they’re cheap.

Okay… how to put this. This anime just comes off as annoying and over the top. It’s filled with cliches.
The three most annoying key factors here are, when the animation gets lazy, the blonde girl talks and the overall lazy image of the cat. And let’s face it, this lazy style reflects it.
Not to mention the characters seem to be really stupid… the girl most of all. Duh… maybe I’s could avoid this guy? My dream is obviously worth throwing my common sense out the window. Though you could argue that it was to further the plot, they still could have done it in a better manner.
In terms of continuing to watch this? No, I don’t think I will. For those who like it? Your tastes are very different from mine.
The laziness makes this anime actually funny unlike other anime’s this involves some action and amusement

Not all the time. Dragonball Z’s dub (IMO) is better than the original. It’s more of an opinion than the fact that you claim “Sub is always better”. Bleach’s dub has great VAs and so does One Piece(VA) but I do like the sub of One Piece slightly better but if they had more dub I would of followed that one so I wouldn’t have to look at the words all the time.
I agree with you, but only when it comes to Gokus voice. I just can’t take a big muscular guy with super powers seriously when he sounds like a little girl with an extreme case of helium voice in the Japanese version. Yes people say its because of his *Innocence* but christ, he’s a big super powered fighting machine that protects the good and defeats evil, sounding like a girl just ruins it in Japanese.
I actually prefer the Blue Water dub of Dragon Ball Z over the Funimation one, the dub that was produced for Canadian/British TV screens and was dubbed in Canada. The voices were better imo.

Interestingly enough I knew that Funimation had the rights to do the Fairy Tail english dub… I have gotten as far as episode 48 on the animax asia dub and I enjoyed it… As far as I can remember Funimation only have as far as episode 48 as well… I was hedging my bets that the guy who voices Edward Elric/Yoshimori Sumimora/Zero + Ichiru Kiryu was going to do Natsu… The guy they did get was a surprise…

There IS something wrong with the comment section, and I’m not the only one who thinks that (I’ve had this discussion before and its almost unanimous). Most comments I and others try to post never actually go through, which is a serious issue considering the main function of a comment section is to actually ‘comment’. And before you say it, it is not due to moderation because of inappropriate content. Perfectly acceptable comments never even seem to register a majority of the time.
