Probably to prepare for what comes after this fight. Fillers only exist to give the creators time to finish something epic.
They were getting kinda close to the manga when it aired in japan. They aired filler and let the manga get ahead again.

No, you got it wrong. The next arc isn’t a flashback, it’s an alternate storyline happening in current time period. It’s called the New Captain Amagai arc

well you guys could always watched the subbed version! but i like the dubbed version. it irritates me to hear “kurosaki-kun” from EVERY character. Also, i’m not biased, but seriously, it looks like orhime and ichigo have a thing for each other mutually! the ending was beautiful, kinda like a wedding lol but to all rukiXichigo fans, don’t ignore scenes between orihime and ichigo just because you don’t want them together.
sure rukia and ichigo may have had some scenes, but they were never as intense as orihime’s and ichigo’s. this is the truth
naruto new episodes should be realeased over the next week and if you read dh news you would know that new episodes of bleach wont be released until some time in august :(

I don’t really like the japanese audio with english subs but i checked out episode 168 with jap. audio and it doesn’t directly continue the story (from the point where ichigo defeated grimmjow in hueco mundo) It starts off intoducing the new squad 3 captain, Amagai Shuusuke, who is replaces former sqaud 3 captain Gin Ichimaru. So i dont know if that’s filler by your standards but yes, that’s what happens. And sorry If this was a spoiler for anyone!

according to adultswim’s schedule, 167 will be aired again on april 17th. then they screw us buy airing episode 129 on april 24th and also starting that week, there will only be 3 episodes per week

you do know these episodes have been dubbed for quite some time now and that they have only just been released its nothing to do with the voice actor being busy on one project johnny works on tons of projects at the same time all the time both games and anime
the reson for the long break is because adult swim was showing 2 episodes of bleach a week and then got quite close to the japanese dub so theyve taken a few month hiatus to let it get back ahead again this is adult swims fault really

I noticed I forgot a sentence…
3 month vacation = 3x 4 weeks = 12 weeks.
52 weeks in a year. 40 of them they spent working on dubbing (god they are slow… i know it could be done faster) then we would get FORTY EPS A YEAR. That’s a dismal rate of production. No one is going to spend 30 minutes a day on a multi-million dollar project. Hours a day. Multiple eps at once. You could get an entire season done in 3 months if you applied yourself and managed your actors’ time correctly.
Duh. If I can think of a way to do it, THEY ALREADY DID. So that leaves us with them cutting the eps with time to make more money… and I refuse to pay them for screwing me.

Takes about a week. They are just waiting so long so they can have a lot of episodes in case something happens and they have to stop dubbing, then they can still release episodes. Well, that’s my theory.
The reason they had to stop in the first place is because they were releasing 2 episodes per week and it was just too fast and waddya know .they ran out of episodes. So 1 episode per week it is :(.

Bleach Episode 168 English Dubbed, along with episode 169+ will be released some time after January 17- up until March. After which, the filler arc will begin, and Adult Swim will likely begin releasing Bleach 1 episode per weekend, instead of it’s 2 episode weekly schedule. I’m sure they’ve learned not to release 2 episodes a week again – else we’ll end up in the same situation as we’re in now.

I think another reason they put bleach on hold was because Johnny yong Bosh (Ichigos vioce) is doing Naruto Shippuudens Sasori voice.And he cant do 2 series at once.
He’s been dubbing both Shippuden and Bleach for Ages, they starting Dubbing NS last october…so im pretty sur eh can do two series at once. Ontop of that they’ve played two many episodes they are catching up the dubbing speed, so they need to dub an extra 20-30 episodes before they start again :P

Dude, Arrancars don’t have hearts. They have holes where their hearts WERE. Get your facts straight.
There will be quite a few filler episodes, then they will show very few of the actual main storyline again. Then they will go back to fillers that will last for a long time again, longer than the fillers they have now. Then they will go back to the main storyline which has a part of the final fight(s), then more fillers, then they do more of the final fight(s), then once more, FILLERS. And thats where the subbed episodes are at the moment.

ok so this is what i think your saying (tell me if im wrong)funimation lets out the next set of dub in 2010, adult swim was supposed to let us wach 1 ep a week to sill have sum left wen the new set comes out but they let out 2 a week and got to far ahead so now we got to wait for the next set to come out?…….also i did sum math and at the pace funimation is going, One Piece will take 5-6 years to catch up if the sub (pz tell me im wrong) like I would wait 1 year (about 1 ep a day) but 6 come on.

nope, your wrong. The filler bount arc is a filler arc, it has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING, except show a small amount of ichigo’s fight with the hollow within. i watched all the episodes over again, except for the bount arc, and it made almost 100% sense, except for the 1 or 2 references to the bount arc. if you do the same, but watch the beginning with Ririn, Noba, and Kurodo, then it all makes sense.

Ummm those guys were killed when Ichigo and Grimmjow first met, those were the guys fighting Toshiro, Ikaku(sp?), Renji and the others right b4 grimmjow lost his arm.
i wonder if this will end up like it did with renji, totally BA, but when Ichi finally beats him, he starts to become seemingly weaker, and befriends the “good guys”. sucks that they cut it here, but at least it is a good cut off point. are they stopping all new episodes till 2010, or are they switching over to filler episodes til 2010?

Probably has something to do with them being around 70-80 episodes behind the sub and at the rate the episodes were being shown we’d be 1/1 with the sub episodes within a few years, be fortunate we’ve had a huge amount of dubbed bleach in the months its aired, they could of done 1 episode a week
the next episode is in the future then in episode 196 it goes back it shows espada#5 vs ichigo i think the next one nell turn in to a adult and the captain goes to that place and help ichigo and his friends. Some people say that grimmjow dies but he doesn’t die ichigo lets him live.

So Bleach is taking another break? At least it’s not in the middle of a series like last time, when the series stopped being aired so that Deathnote could take it it’s slot. They could have waited until after the soul society arc, rather than cut off right in the middle.
At least this time they left us with a proper conclusion.
While it sucks that we have to wait until after the filler arc to watch the rest of the story, we also get to see a new storyline, which means that the storyline won’t loose pace. Running an anime alongside the manga is a catch 22 I guess.

It statd Clearly in the episode that even if any part of them was eaten by another Hollow that thier evoution would stop thats why Debo or what is name was could never become Vasto Lordas. Grimjow wasnt required to eat the entire body to gain thier power thats why they were still alive when They came and attacked the World of the Living.

Great episode. It was really nice seeing Grimmjow’s past and the fight was just awesome. Too bad that this is it for bleach for now and there won’t be any more episodes for at least a while. I just hope when they start airing the next episode which is the start of the new filler arc that they’ll continue airing two a week and get it over with, because I couldn’t stand being stuck with a filler arc going at the pace of one episode a week (that would take 6 months to finish).

this fight was epic yet i dont understand the whole process of how the gilions develop and where grimmjow was eating those others becuz they look so much like the espada that fought ichigo first when grimmjow met him
they were. and the one is espada number 10 too.
the big one in the back was espanda #10 cause i saw and they were all #’s higher then 10 except for gimmjow.
the big hollow was NOT yammie espada 10. all the hollows were the same hollows that go with grimmjow to the world of the living the first time. the big one is the fat arrancar with shao long that fights toshiro.

Unfortunately, we’re into hiatus. Was kinda hoping the Amagai arc would be rushed quickly.
There will be 20 filler episodes in total, and the next arc is non filler with some filler episodes in the mix, like in the arrancar arc.
To Answer your question there will be 22 Filler episodes so from what ive been hearing about there will only be one ep from january 17th well be stuck with the filler for 22 weeks! =(
